摘要: An in-vehicle promotions system and a method for distributing promotions information. A system is installed in a vehicle able to display promotions information from stores or other businesses subscribing to the system. When the vehicle is driven within a certain proximity of the store, the promotions information, which may include coupons, is automatically displayed. The system may also include a printer for printing the promotions or other information either on demand or automatically. The position of the vehicle may be monitored with a GPS or Loran receiver and the promotions information displayed when the system finds the position of the vehicle to be within a defined range of a store with which the promotions information is associated. The store may also transmit the coupon information which is received by the in-vehicle system when the vehicle comes within a defined transmitting range of the store.

摘要: Methods for targeting and prolonging association of a selected drug to the luminal surface of pulmonary vascular endothelium of an animal are provided wherein a selected drug is administered to an animal in combination with a non-internalizable antibody which binds to an antigen on the luminal surface of the pulmonary vasculature. This method is particularly useful in dissolution of fibrin clots or prevention of the intravascular coagulation in the pulmonary vasculature.

摘要: A method is provided for preparing the surface of a cured cyanate ester resin or composite for metal plating. The composite may comprise graphite fibers embedded in a cured cyanate ester resin matrix The surface is treated with a preheated solution containing an alkali metal salt of an alkoxide. Preferred alkoxides are methoxide, ethoxide, propoxide, isopropoxide, butoxide, tert-butoxide, sec-tutoxide, 2- methyl-2-butoxide, pentoxide and hexoxide. The method of the invention operates to improve adhesion between the treated surface and a subsequently plated metal, such that the resulting cured cyanate ester resin or composite may replace certain metallic components in such applications as aircraft, spacecraft, and automobiles given its highly conductive metallic coating.

摘要: A graphical user interface for a computer-assisted motion video editing system directs a user through the process of editing a video program. The graphical user interface may also enables a user to plan a video program. Alternatively selectable interfaces within a single window interface, each of which provide a group of planning, capturing, editing, and recording functions can provide such an interface for producing a video program. Other simplifications to the user interface can be provided to assist in editing, such as by maintaining a video display window for displaying the edited video program at a fixed position for all available editing operations. Additionally, video information can be captured directly into a timeline representation of a video program, rather than a bin. Using a storyboard tied to the capturing process, a user is directed through the process of collecting and capturing the video clips to be used in the video program.

摘要: An optical fiber connector includes a wedge for gripping one or more buffered optical fibers. The wedge comprises a body portion having an opening that extends through it from one end to the other through a longitudinal axis of the wedge for receiving the pair of optical fibers contained within a cable. The wedge further includes a pair of flexible cantilevers that extend from one end of the body portion along a direction that is parallel to the longitudinal axis. Each cantilever includes an inner surface that faces the inner surface of the other cantilever, and each inner surface includes an like number of grooves that are parallel to each other and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the wedge. The grooves grip the pair of buffered optical fibers when compressed by crimping a surrounding bushing, and thereby restrain the optical fibers from being pulled back into the cable during handling. The cantilevers are symmetrically positioned on opposite sides of a plane which contains the longitudinal axis of the wedge.
