The 3D image converter performs conversion processing for converting a 2D image including a plurality of planes that are created with virtual distances into a 3D image on the basis of the virtual distances among the plurality of planes of the 2D images. The 3D image generator generates a 3D image from the two-dimensional image on the basis of the conversion processing performed by the 3D image converter and displays the generated 3D image. When a virtual distance between the corresponding planes of the 2D image is changed while the 3D image is being displayed by use of the 3D image generator, the 3D image converter performs the conversion processing in accordance with a change in the virtual distance.
