    摘要: The present invention is directed to improved microfine propylene polymer powders having reduced fines which are comprised of spherical or substantially spherical particles and have a number average particle size from about 25 to about 60. A process for preparing the improved powders is also provided. The process involves dispersing a molten propylene homopolymer or copolymer which has been visbroken in a liquid medium in the presence of a nonionic surfactant, cooling the dispersion below the melt point of the propylene polymer and recovering the powder.

    摘要: An innovative robotic foam application process that integrates system communications, non-contact vehicle insertion point locations, and applications controls to accurately dispense a two-component structural foam at a high volume and flow rate. The process begins by first inserting a baffle within the support structure. After an electrocoat application and bake, the baffles expand and are sealed within the support structure to form cavities having a fill hole. A hydraulic driven robotic dispensing system equipped with a high-pressure static mixer senses the respective fill hole, moves a robotic arm to a location sensed, and injects a high volume of mixed two-component viscous material within each of the respective located fill holes at a high fill rate. After dispensing, the viscous material undergoes an exothermic curing reaction to cure and is expanded to substantially fill each cavity.

    摘要: A multi-layer, laminated panel for a frameless window assembly has an adhesive bead extending along a frameless edge of the panel to contacting and structurally bond the two outer layers of the pane, thereby increasing the stiffness of the panel. The panel is used in a movable window assembly for an automotive vehicle in which a regulator is mounted to the vehicle adjacent a window opening, a seal is installed in the window opening, and the panel is moved by the regulator to a closed position wherein the frameless edge of the panel engages the seal.

    摘要: The present invention relates to crosslinkable microfine ethylene copolymer powders which are substantially spherical in shape and range in size from about 10 up to about 500 microns and to the process of crosslinking the powders to reduce their melt flow rate. The powders are crosslinked by contacting with water in the presence of a silanol condensation catalyst at temperatures from ambient up to about 110.degree. C. The reduction in melt flow rate is accomplished without substantially changing the powder characteristics, i.e., particle size and particle size distribution.

    摘要: The present invention relates to fractional melt flow rate powders wherein the particles are substantially spherical in shape and range in size from about 10 up to about 200 microns. The invention also relates to a process whereby a dispersible olefin copolymer resin can be converted into a microfine powder with reduced melt index. The process entails dispersing a molten olefin copolymer resin containing silane functionality in a liquid medium in the presence of a nonionic surfactant and catalyst and, after the melt flow rate is reduced to the desired level, cooling the dispersion to below the melt point of the olefin polymer.
