Abstract: A mounting system is provided for mounting an upper body structure laterally onto a vehicle platform of a motor vehicle. At least one of the upper body structure and the vehicle platform are equipped with wheels to be movable laterally on the ground with regards to a longitudinal direction. The upper body structure has an engagement portion and the vehicle platform has a complementary shaped counter-engagement portion shaped to engage each other under relative lateral movement of the upper body structure and the vehicle platform towards each other thereby coupling the upper body structure and the vehicle platform to each other for joint longitudinal movement.

Abstract: A process for welding of at least two separate vehicle panels (12, 14) to form an integral part (16) for a vehicle. There is provided at least one first panel (12) including a first weld line area (18) and at least one second panel (14) including a corresponding second weld line area (19), the second weld line area (19) abutting in a weldable relationship to the first weld line area (18). The first and second weld line areas (18, 19) have at least one first weldable portion (22) and at least one second portion (24) at which welding is substantially hindered during welding attachment of the first and second panels (12, 14). The process includes applying a curable adhesive at each second portion (24), placing in a welding fixture and welding the panels (12, 14) at each first weldable portion (22) such that the panels (12, 14) are held together during curing of the adhesive.

Abstract: A machine including a frame, a traction assembly and an actuator disposed between the frame and the traction assembly is disclosed. The actuator is configured to raise the frame to a serviceable height relative to the traction assembly. The machine further includes a support rod configured to be disposed between the frame and the traction assembly when the frame is at the serviceable height such that the support rod is magnetically held on one of the frame and the traction assembly and the support rod defines a gap with other of the frame and the traction assembly. Abstract: A device for measuring a gap and a step between two panels is disclosed. The device includes a laser radiating unit for emitting laser beam over a first panel and a second panel and in a first linear pattern across a gap between a first panel and a second panel. The device further includes a lighting unit for emitting a non-laser light beam over a first panel and a second panel and in a second linear pattern overlapping the first pattern across the gap between the first and the second panel. The system further comprises a camera for capturing images of the first linear pattern of laser and the second linear pattern of non-laser light projected over the first panel and the second panel. The system analyzes at least one image captured from the camera and estimates a width of the gap between the first and second panels.
