    摘要: A multi-layer, low-emissivity, solar control article comprises a dielectric substrate, a first dielectric metal oxide layer deposited on the substrate, a first highly conductive, silver-free metal oxide layer deposited on the first dielectric metal oxide, and a second dielectric metal oxide deposited on the first highly conductive, silver-free metal oxide layer. The aforementioned coating layer sequence may be repeated as necessary to achieve the desired properties. An iridescence suppressing interlayer may, optionally, be utilized in connection with the low-emissivity, solar control coating.

    摘要: A process for polymerizing vinyl chloride alone or a mixture of vinyl chloride and other vinyl monomer(s) with hydroxy containing monomer(s), and the copolymer obtained thereby. The hydroxy containing monomer(s) is obtained by the partial allylation of dihydroxy or polyhydroxy alcohols. The copolymers are prepared by suspension polymerization. The presence of the hydroxyl groups significantly modifies the characteristics of the polymers. Plasticizer-take-up is increased and dry-time is reduced significantly. Furthermore, the hydroxyl groups become the sites for postpolymerization reactions due to their polarity and reactivity.

    摘要: An improved method is provided for copolymerizing vinyl chloride with allyl glycidyl ether and a vinyl ester. The copolymers so formed include 70-99 weight percent of vinyl chloride, 0.05-15 weight percent of allyl glycidyl ether, and 0.05-15 weight percent of a vinyl ester, preferably vinyl acetate. The copolymers of this invention can be compounded to provide films exhibiting improved heat stability, low haze, and good adhesion to solid surfaces such as glass and metal. The compounded resins thus obtained may be especially advantageously used in forming the interlayer of laminated safety glazings, such as vehicle windshields and architectural glazings.The copolymerization of vinyl chloride, allyl glycidyl ether, a vinyl ester and small amounts of an unsaturated organic trifunctional silane provide self-adhesion without gelation.

    摘要: The invention relates to the coating of flat glass with indium oxide. Indium oxide coatings, optionally doped, for example with tin, are produced in high yield by utilising a chemical vapour deposition process in which a gaseous mixture of a dialkylindium compound and a source of oxygen is directed on to the hot glass surface (The dialkylindium may also be used without pre-mixing but with separate supply of the oxygen source to the glass surface). The processes of the invention are especially suitable for application of a doped indium oxide coating to a continuous ribbon of glass on the production line on which the glass is formed, for use, for example, in architectural glazing applications utilising the low emissivity of the coating.

    摘要: A chemical vapor deposition process for laying down an aluminum oxide coating on a glass substrate through the use of an organic ester having a β hydrogen on the alkyl group bonded to the carboxylate oxygen and an inorganic aluminum halide. The resulting article has an aluminum oxide coating which can be of substantial thickness because of the high deposition rates attainable with the novel process. Preferably, the coating deposition rates resulting from the method of the present invention may be greater than or equal to 200 Å per second.
