Abstract: A method of evaluating rehabilitation potential in patients experiencing painful musculoskeletal or neuropathic conditions or both, by maximizing multidimensional rehabilitation outcomes by better identifying the specific needs of each patient; understanding the many obstacles to rehabilitation success falling into motivational, physical, and emotional categories; physical obstacles to rehabilitation including but not limited to incorrect diagnoses and deconditioning; emotional obstacles including fear avoidance, catastrophizing, generalized anxiety, depression, childhood adverse events, emotional awareness deficits; and motivational obstacles including factitious disorder, personality disorders, malingering and apathy. The resulting comprehensive pain rehabilitation program combines multiple treatment options. Medicinal treatments include anti-inflammatory medications; muscle relaxants; opioids and cannabinoids; injection therapies; neuropathic medications; and pain adjuvant medications. Mental health services include mindfulness, biofeedback, progressive relaxation, cognitive behavioral therapies, logotherapy, and trauma therapies. Physical rehabilitation services include physical or occupational therapy; chiropractic; massage therapy; acupuncture; osteopathy and personalized exercises.

Abstract: The present invention relates to filters used to remove debris from water being sucked into a piping system. It has particular application for use in nuclear power plants, which, after a loss of coolant accident, must pump cooling water back into the reactor core from a collection sump. This water may contain various types of debris that must be removed before the water is sent back into the reactor cooling system. Filtering of the debris is realized with the component known as “strainers”. There are restrictions on the space available for installing strainers. The vaned filtering element, for example a vaned fin, of the present invention is designed to reduce the space required for strainer installation by increasing strainer surface area per unit volume, while maximizing the quantity of debris that can be filtered from the water.

This water may contain various types of debris that must be removed before the water is sent back into the reactor cooling system. Abstract: A portable navigation module and its method of operation are disclosed for seamlessly providing navigation and positioning information to a user. The module comprises: means, such as a GPS receiver, for receiving a first set of navigational information from an external source, such as satellites; and an inertial sensor unit for generating a second set of navigational information at the module. The navigational information is used by a processor programmed with a core algorithm, to identify the mode of conveyance algorithm and an orientation or misalignment algorithm. The algorithm utilizes the navigational information, aided by the mode of conveyance information and the orientation information, to produce a filtered navigation solution (which comprises position, velocity and attitude). The solution is suitably displayed, preferably on a detachable display unit. The system has the following attributes: the solution is produced seamlessly, even if one source of navigational information is temporarily out of service; the accuracy of the solution is assisted by use of the mode of conveyance and orientation information; and there is no requirement for the module to be permanently aligned with the direction of movement of the conveyance platform.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for analyzing through one-pass of unstructured time stamped data of a physical process. A distribution of time-stamped unstructured data is analyzed to identify a plurality of potential hierarchical structures for the unstructured data. A hierarchical analysis of the potential hierarchical structures is performed to determine an optimal frequency and a data sufficiency metric for the potential hierarchical structures. One of the potential hierarchical structures is selected as a selected hierarchical structure based on the data sufficiency metrics. The unstructured data is structured according to the selected hierarchical structure and the optimal frequency associated with the selected hierarchical structure, where said structuring of the unstructured data is performed via a single pass though the unstructured data. The identified statistical analysis of the physical process is performed using the structured data.

Abstract: Techniques for recovering from session failures between clients and database servers are described herein. A session may be established between a client and a first database server, and a transaction may be opened to process a plurality of database commands. One or more commands associated with the transaction may be received from the client at the database server. Each received command has an associated command identifier. A transaction log stores the command identifier associated with each received command and indicates whether each received command has been successfully executed at the database server. After a session failure, the session is reestablished, and a command identifier for a further command is received from the client. If the command identifier associated with the further command is determined to have been stored in the transaction log, the command does not need to be executed, and the transaction may continue.
