Abstract:
Systems and methods for producing media products are disclosed herein. As one example, a system for producing a media product that includes a microprocessor is disclosed. Such a system may include a content object set maintained on a computer readable medium accessible to the microprocessor and software executable to receive a job definition; receive a composition zone definition; receive a layout definition; and export a product in accordance with the job definition and the layout definition to a first media and a second media.
Abstract:
A ferromagnetic loop having a footprint characterized by a continuous wire shaped in a serpentine manner to form multiple contiguous polygons within the footprint for detection of moving vehicles. The footprint can be one of a triangle, a square, a rectangle, a rhombus, a parallelogram, an ellipse, or a circle. Similarly, each of the multiple contiguous polygons can be one of a triangle, a square, a rectangle, a rhombus, a parallelogram. Different design configurations for the ferromagnetic loop and methods for making and using the same are disclosed.

A laminated transparency includes a flexible epoxy moisture seal about the periphery of the transparency. The edge of the transparency may be cleaned and primed with a silane surface treatment.
Abstract:
A method and system for synchronization of detection loops in a multilane environment. A plurality of loop sensors are arranged in a plurality of lanes such that loop sensors in adjacent lanes are mutually contiguous. A simultaneous synchronization signal is sent to each of the plurality of loop detector controllers, where each loop detector controller is in communication with a loop sensor. The signal causes a scheduling of sampling periods for each loop sensor, such that the sampling period of each loop sensor does not overlap with that of a contiguous loop in an adjacent lane.
Abstract:
A frequency division network is disclosed in which a sinusoidal signal is converted to a digital format for frequency division and then converted back to the sinusoidal format, the sinusoidal output waveform having low phase noise. In a preferred embodiment the frequency conversion takes place in an m-fold plurality of edge triggered flip-flops, connected to divide by two, and clocked by the sinusoidal waveform. Each flip-flop is subject to jitter causing phase noise, which is minimized when the output of two sets of four flip-flops are averaged, and then filtered to obtain the sinusoidal fundamental. When a crystal filter having a very narrow pass band is employed, the phase noise is further reduced. The frequency division network uses low cost components and the phase noise of the output waveform approaches that of a stable crystal oscillator.

Abstract:
An automatic coin machine having a redundant coin processing system with at least two coin processing mechanisms. The first or the active coin processing mechanism is initially set up to receive coins from a coin diverter which is in communication with a coin collection device. While the active coin processing mechanism is processing the coins received from the coin diverter, the inactive or the second coin processing mechanism can be serviced without affecting operation of the active coin processing mechanism. When the first coin processing mechanism becomes disabled, in need of service, or is otherwise idle, the coin diverter is switched from the first coin processing mechanism to the second coin processing mechanism, thus making the first coin processing mechanism inactive, and at the same time, making the second processing mechanism active. Similarly, the coin diverter can be switched back over to the first coin processing mechanism when the second coin processing mechanism becomes disabled, in need of service, or is otherwise idle.

Abstract:
A reusable bite block/film packet holder is taught which includes comfort enhancing features for holding intraoral radiographic film packets therein and for proper positioning in a patient's mouth. The bite block/film packet holder includes a bite-block and a support bracket extending at an angle of about 90° from the bite-block. There is a slot in the bite-block immediately adjacent the support bracket for engaging an edge of an intraoral film packet inserted therein. A perimetric border at the peripheral edge of the support bracket has a generally rounded cross-sectional configuration and extends beyond the dimensions of the intraoral film packet inserted in the slot. Thus, the sharp, die-cut edges of the film packet are prevented from uncomfortably engaging the soft/sensitive tissues of a patient's mouth. Rather the rounded, soft-feeling perimetric border of the bite block/film packet holder is the contacting element.
