Abstract: The invention relates to a self-supporting polymer film comprising a thermoplastic polymer, a ketone, and at least one organic photochromic molecule comprising a chromophore, wherein preferably the at least one organic photochromic molecule comprising a chromophore is evenly distributed in the self-supporting polymer film. A typical self-supporting polymer film of the invention is a self-supporting photochromic aliphatic thermoplastic polyurethane film imbibed with a ketone such as acetone and cyclohexanone, further comprising one or more of a diarylethene, a spirooxazine and a naphthopyran, preferably a polydialkylsiloxane-substituted naphthopyran. The invention also relates to a method for the manufacturing of such a self-supporting polymer film of the invention, and to the use of such a self-supporting polymer film in the manufacturing of an article. Furthermore, the invention relates to an article comprising a self-supporting polymer film of the invention.

Abstract: The resin composition of the present invention has a phase separation structure including a continuous phase of a thermoplastic resin A and a dispersion phase of a thermoplastic resin B, wherein the thermoplastic resin A and the thermoplastic resin B each have a glass transition temperature of −50° C. or more and 50° C. or less, an absolute value of a difference between glass transition temperatures Tg1 and Tg2, which are each in a range of −50° C. or more and 50° C. or less, is 17° C. or less, and a haze at 23° C. is less than 1.5%. The present invention can provide a resin composition excellent in transparency at low temperature, a resin film containing the resin composition, and a glass laminate including the resin film.

Abstract: Embodiments of a laminate including a first curved glass substrate comprising a first viscosity (poises) at a temperature of 630° C.; a second curved glass substrate comprising a second viscosity that is greater than the first viscosity at a temperature of 630° C.; and an interlayer disposed between the first curved glass substrate and the second curved glass substrate, are disclosed. In one or more embodiments, the first curved glass substrate exhibits a first sag depth that is within 10% of a second sag depth of the second curved glass substrate. In one or more embodiments, the first glass substrate and the second glass substrate exhibit a shape deviation therebetween of about ±5 mm or less as measured by an optical three-dimensional scanner or exhibit minimal optical distortion. Embodiments of vehicles including such laminates and methods for making such laminates are also disclosed.

Abstract: A laminated glazing assembly includes an outer glass substrate, an inner glass substrate, and a polymeric interlayer disposed therebetween. The laminated glazing assembly also includes an antenna assembly disposed between the polymeric interlayer and one of the outer glass substrate and the inner glass substrate. The antenna assembly includes a film layer that carries a radiating element. The film layer may be a transparent film layer having a refractive index of from 1.45 to 1.55. The radiating element includes conductive wires disposed on the film layer and configured to be energized to transmit and/or receive radio frequency signals. The laminated glazing assembly may also include an adhesive layer disposed between the film layer and one of the outer glass substrate and the inner glass substrate, and a feeding element coupled to the inner glass substrate and capacitively coupled to the antenna assembly to energize the antenna assembly to transmit and/or receive radio frequency signals.
