摘要: A device, system and method are provided for processing and displaying content received in a content feed. Dimensions of a page layout area available to display a articles are determined, and a page layout is generated with a first layout region whose size is based at least in part on the content of a first article, and a second layout region occupying a subdivision of the remaining area of the page layout area. The second layout region position and size is thus determined by the page layout area dimensions and size of the first layout region. A further layout region may be defined in the remaining area of the page layout area after the second layout region is defined, again based on the page layout area dimensions and the size of the second layout region. Articles are then laid out in a corresponding one of the layout regions for display.

摘要: Data is received by a first device from a first source, where the data contains a link to a particular web page. Responsive to the data, a repository of syndicated content items associated with web pages is accessed. If a particular syndicated content item associated with the particular web page is in the repository, the particular syndicated content item is retrieved and provided to a second device for display at the second device.

摘要: Content is managed and delivered to mobile devices, often through a wireless network. Mobile devices have content management software containing instructions to receive and manage content at the mobile device. Content management servers select and manage content and transmit content to the mobile devices, receiving requests for content, and up-to-date information regarding quantity of content to be transmitted. Up-to-date information regarding quantity is repeatedly sent and received, and content is repeatedly selected and transmitted using the information to make selections. Specific embodiments provide methods, systems, and devices for automatically managing content to increase the probability that the user is gaining access to the content they want to see and for decreasing the chance that the delivery of content is tying up limited resources of mobile devices.

摘要: A system for producing fluids from a subterranean zone comprises a tubing string disposed in a well bore, the tubing string adapted to communicate fluids from the subterranean zone to a ground surface. A downhole fluid lift system is operable to lift fluids towards the ground surface. A downhole fluid heater is disposed in the well bore and is operable to vaporize a liquid in the well bore. A seal between the downhole fluid lift system and the downhole fluid heater is operable to isolate a portion of the well bore containing the downhole fluid lift system from a portion of the well bore containing the downhole fluid heater. A method comprises: disposing a tubing string in a well bore; generating vapor in the well bore; and lifting fluids from the subterranean zone to a ground surface through the tubing string.

摘要: The subject invention includes mutant voltage-gated ion channels that are open over a wide range of potential differences across membranes. The present invention also includes methods of use such mutant voltage-gated ion channels in cells with highly negative potential differences across their membranes. One preferred mutant voltage-gated ion channel is a channel with a mutation at the residue homologous to P513 in Kv1.5 and at least one mutation at one of the residues homologous to R400, R403, and R409 in Kv1.5.

摘要: Protection transmission unit allocation, such as STS# in a SONET/SDH network utilizing time slot interchange on the working path, may be determined by disseminating connection information, connection identification information, and a prioritization scheme, to nodes on the network and allowing them to deterministically allocate protection transmission units to connections on the protection cycle. Network elements forming physical or logical rings may thus ascertain the location on protection for a given connection without requiring protection unit allocation to be disseminated from a central controller. Since each node is starting with the same connection information and running the same priority determination, each will end up with the same result and will know where to place and find connections on protection. Aspects of the invention may be employed for example in a SONET/SDH based network, a mesh network, or other type of network with dedicated protection paths and transmission allocation on those protection paths.
