摘要:
A method and system are provided for effecting interactive, three-dimensional renderings of selected body organs for purposes of medical observation and diagnosis. A series of CT images of the selected body organs are acquired. The series of CT images is stacked to form a three-dimensional volume file. To facilitate interactive three-dimensional rendering, the three-dimensional volume file may be subjected to an optional dataset reduction procedure to reduce pixel resolution and/or to divide the three-dimensional volume file into selected subvolumes. From a selected volume or subvolume, the image of a selected body organ is segmented or isolated. A wireframe model of the segmented organ image is then generated to enable interactive, three-dimensional rendering of the selected organ.

A method and system are provided to report the findings of an expert's analysis of image data. The method and system are based on a reporting system that forms the basis of an image management system that can efficiently and systematically generate image reports, facilitate data entry into searchable databases for data mining, and expedite billing and collections for the expert's services. The expert identifies a significant finding on an image and attaches a location:description code to the location of that finding in order to create a significant finding and an entry into a database. Further descriptions of that finding, such as dimensional measurements, may be automatically appended to the finding as secondary attributes. After the evaluation, the system sorts the findings in the database and presents the findings by prioritized categories. The expert edits and approves a multimedia report which may be delivered by electronic means to an end-user.

Systems and methods for screening large client populations (e.g., students) to identify those clients susceptible to a medical condition (e.g., a cardiac condition) are provided. In general, the system allows for a large number of clients to be tested at a convenient location (e.g., a school), on-site identification of those clients at immediate risk, and over-read of each test result (both normal and abnormal test results) at a later date by a physician capable of gaining access to the records via a secure computer connection. The system further includes various servers and network connections capable of creating and maintaining a secure central database, creating and updating electronic client medical records, down-loading data (e.g., the electronic records) from the central database to portable computing units, collecting client testing data, up-loading and integrating the testing data into the secure central database, and providing secure access to authorized end-users.

A method of providing health care by establishing a predetermined patient population grouped by geographic regions where the patient population has access to a traveling healthcare professional that may travel to the patient's location. The healthcare professional evaluates and examines the patient using a plurality of technologies including a microprocessor and memory storage that is coupled to, or interfaced with, audio/video/data transfer and communications systems, medical devices, and other vital measurement devices that the physician located at the physicians' center uses to assess and consult the healthcare professional who is onsite with the remote patient. During the exam the healthcare professional uses audio/video/data communications for interconnecting the healthcare professional with a physician at the physicians' center. The physician at the physicians' center conducts a virtual house call to help maintain the physician-patient relationship, evaluate the collected information, and instruct the healthcare professional during the physician's examination and evaluation. The physician having access to the patient's health records, family medical history, present medications, prior allergic reactions and any adverse drug interactions or contraindications, assesses, and renders a diagnoses and treatment plan back to the healthcare professional. The healthcare professional under the delegation of the physician treats the patient under the physician's instructions. The physician may prescribe medication and transmit the prescription to a pharmacy. The physician updates the patient's health record with the collected information, diagnosis, physician orders, treatment plan, patient input information, and clinical notes. The method also provides for a patient to obtain medical information without the need for a healthcare professional's visit. The method also provides many illustrations that allow for the assessment, treatment, diagnosis, and sharing of medical information and care to be provided to the patient at the patient's location, and to authorized healthcare professionals.

A computer system and a computer-implemented method are provided for interactively displaying a three-dimensional rendering of a structure having a lumen and for indicating regions of abnormal wall structure. A three-dimensional volume of data is formed from a series of two-dimensional images representing at least one physical property associated with the three-dimensional structure. An isosurface of a selected region of interest is created by a computer from the volume of data based on a selected value or values of a physical property representing the selected region of interest. A wireframe model of the isosurface is generated by the computer wherein the wireframe model includes a plurality of vertices. The vertices are then grouped into populations of contiguous vertices having a characteristic indicating abnormal wall structure by the computer. The wireframe model is then rendered by the computer in an interactive three-dimensional display to indicate the populations of abnormal wall structure.
