Abstract: One or more devices, systems, methods and storage mediums for optical imaging medical devices, and methods and storage mediums for use with same, for viewing, controlling, updating, and emphasizing one or more imaging modalities and/or for constructing or reconstructing 2D and/or 3D structure(s) are provided herein. One or more embodiments provide at least one intuitive Graphical User Interface (GUI), method, device, apparatus, system, or storage medium to comprehend information, including, but not limited to, molecular structure of a vessel, and to provide an ability to manipulate the vessel information and/or to construct or reconstruct 2D and/or 3D structure(s) of the vessel to improve or maximize accuracy in one or more images. In addition to controlling one or more imaging modalities, the GUI may operate for one or more applications, including, but not limited to, expansion/underexpansion (e.g., for a stent) and/or apposition/malapposition (e.g., for a stent), co-registration, and imaging.

Abstract: A device for the non-invasive sensing of the length of an implantable medical device includes an implantable medical device having first and second portions moveable relative to one another and a layer of resistive material disposed on one of the first and second portions. A contact is disposed on the other of the first and second portions, the contact being in sliding contact with the layer of resistive material upon relative movement between the first and second portions. A circuit is configured to measure the electrical resistance along a path including a variable length region of the layer of resistive material and the contact. The electrical resistance can then be converted into a length.

Abstract: An endoscope apparatus includes an illuminating device and a processor. The illuminating device emits display illumination light and support illumination light in a time-division manner. The processor generates a display image based on an image signal acquired when the display illumination light is emitted, and support information based on an image signal acquired when the support illumination light is emitted. The processor generates first support information when an illumination property is a first illumination property, superimposes first display content based on the first support information on the display image, switches the illumination property of the support illumination light to a second illumination property upon determination that the first support information satisfies a predetermined condition, generates second support information when the illumination property is the second illumination property, and superimposes second display content based on the second support information on the display image.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for measuring the diameter of an airway in a human or animal subject are disclosed. The device comprises a flexible catheter body having a proximal end and a distal end. Flexible sizing elements are disposed along and extend approximately orthogonally from the catheter body. The sizing elements have different heights from one another and are configured to fit through the working channel of a bronchoscope. Devices, systems, and methods for redirecting airflow through a lung airway are also disclosed. The method comprises introducing into the airway a catheter comprising a distal end, a proximal end and an elongated portion therebetween, wherein the distal end comprises an airway closing mechanism, and wherein the proximal end comprises an actuator to actuate the airway closing mechanism; and actuating the airway closing mechanism to at least partially close the airway.
