摘要: An ultrasonic diagnostic imaging system is operable to produce tissue Doppler images and data for diagnostic use. The system includes a visual or audible alert which alerts a user to the possibility of aliasing in the tissue Doppler image data and the need to reset the velocity scale of the color map. The visual alert may be a light on the display screen or control panel or contrasting colors to the colors of the color map in an area of the image where aliasing may be occurring. The visual alert may be a histogram displayed in alignment with the color bar of the tissue Doppler image. The indication by the histogram of image values at a velocity limit of the color bar indicates a need to adjust the color velocity scaling.

摘要: An embodiment of the invention is a method of managing user authorization levels for access to a plurality of applications. The method includes receiving a request from a user to establish a user profile and establishing an employment indicator for the user. A user authorization level template is obtained in response to the employment indicator. The user authorization level template identifies a plurality of applications and a user authorization level for each application. The user authorization levels are then associated with the user.

摘要: A method for detecting a relative level of a contrast agent in a region of a body, where the contrast agent is susceptible to destruction by a destructive ultrasound signal. The method comprises the steps of: determining a signal level from a first ultrasound echo that is produced in the region during a first time, which occurs while the contrast agent is present in the region; determining a signal level of a second ultrasound echo that is produced in the region during a second time, which occurs after destruction of the contrast agent; and determining a ratio of the signal level from the first ultrasound echo and the signal level from the second ultrasound echo, where the ratio indicates a relative level of the contrast agent during the second time as compared to the first time.

摘要: An ultrasound imaging system is provided with an adaptive filter for transforming an input signal to produce an output signal having one or more desired signal statistics (e.g., signal-to-noise ratio, Gaussian function specification, etc.). The adaptive filter includes a digital filter configured to receive input signals and produce output signals. The adaptive filter exhibits a transfer function H defined by one or more coefficients C. A controller is configured to generate the filter coefficients based upon one or more signal constraints that are provided to the controller by a user and a sample signal that exhibits one or more sample signal statistics and that is communicated to the digital filter. The controller communicates the filter coefficients to the adaptive filter. The filter coefficients cause the adaptive filter to transform input data, based upon the transfer function H(C), to produce output data exhibiting (at least approximately) the one or more desired signal statistics, the desired signal statistics based upon the sample signal statistics and the constraints. Several different coefficient sets may be utilized in the adaptive filter for different object parts (e.g., blood, tissue, etc.) to be imaged. Furthermore, the adaptive filter may be operated by a designer so as to preset the coefficients, periodically initiated by a user/operator to reset the coefficients, and/or automatically initiated by the system, perhaps periodically or upon detection of a certain event, during operation to reset the coefficients.

摘要: Methods and apparatus are provided for medical ultrasound imaging. An ultrasound beam is scanned in a fast scan direction and is scanned in a slow scan direction concurrently with scanning in the fast scan direction. During scanning of the ultrasound beam, ultrasound data samples, representative of two-dimensional slices of a volume of interest in a patient, are acquired at different points in the slow scan direction and at different times in the patient's cardiac cycle. Scanning in the slow scan direction is controlled relative to the patient's cardiac cycle so that the acquired data samples have a desired spatial distribution over the volume of interest and a desired temporal distribution over the patient's cardiac cycle. The acquired data samples are converted to three-dimensional image data sets which represent the volume of interest at different times in the patient's cardiac cycle. Scanning in the slow scan direction may be controlled by starting scanning at uniformly-spaced time intervals relative to the patient's cardiac cycle.

摘要: An animal cage comprising an enclosure having a shape capable of rolling movement. The enclosure has openings therein, preferably formed of mesh, for passage of gases and matter therethrough and to prevent egress of the animal. The enclosure further includes a door for passage of the animal and may include a food reservoir and fluid reservoir to provide food and fluid to an animal housed within the cage. A second enclosure may also be provided within the first enclosure to prevent injury of the animal due to movement of the cage. The enclosures may be formed on a support frame having one or more longitudinal rings or half-rings and one or more latitudinal rings or half-rings. The enclosures may be completed by individual section members which cover sections of the enclosure and which are held in place by outer tension bars and inner compression bars. The outer tension bars and inner compression bars are held in relative tension and compression by a polar cap assembly having a tension cone and a compression cone for acting on the tension and compression bars.

摘要: A heat exchanger for heating liquids with other liquids or vapors. An inner flow tube is carried concentrically within an outer flow tube to define an inner passage and also an annular passage. A first manifold directs all of the incoming fluid from one fluid source to either the inner or annular passage. A second manifold directs all of the incoming cooler fluid from the other fluid source to the other passage. A third manifold at the other end of the outer tube discharges the fluid from it so that it does not mix with the inner tube fluid. The outer tube is immersed in inner tube fluid to cause heat transfer through the walls of the inner tube and outer tube.

摘要: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, at lease one contact mounted to the insulative housing and a fusible element mounted to the contact. The contact includes a body portion and a mounting portion extending from the body portion. The mounting portion includes a support portion and first and second tails bent from the support portion along opposite directions in order to form a discrete receiving slot. The first and the second tails are substantially perpendicular to the body portion. The fusible element is received in the receiving slot and is in line with the body portion of the contact for reliable fixation.
