摘要： A siding panel assembly includes an ornamental facing and a first insulation layer made from fibrous insulating material. That fibrous insulating material is selected from glass fibers, polymer fibers, natural fibers and mixtures thereof having a compressive strength of between about 14 to about 220 pounds of force and a wet and dry recovery of at least 98%. A method for making the siding panel assembly includes the steps of molding a first surface of a sheet of fibrous insulating material to match in profile a concavity in an ornamental facing and engaging the molded sheet of fibrous insulating material in that concavity.

摘要： A mold for manufacturing a simulated stone product includes a flexible layer having a mold cavity in the shape of the simulated stone product. The flexible layer includes a first surface in which the mold cavity is formed and a second surface opposite the first surface. The mold also includes a structural foam that conforms to the shape of the second surface of the flexible layer and provides support to the second surface. The mold further includes a plastic tray holding the structural foam and the flexible layer. Also described are a plastic tray for constructing a mold to manufacture a simulated stone product, and a method of manufacturing a simulated stone product.

摘要： Ceramic fibers having a coating of activated carbon thereon are disclosed. A process involving coating the ceramic fibers with a carbon source, carbonizing the fibers, and then activating the carbon makes the fibers. The preferred carbon source is asphalt in the form of an aqueous emulsion or a solution. The activated, carbon coated ceramic fibers have excellent filtering properties especially at high temperatures. They perform as well as carbon fibers and have the advantage of lower cost and fewer production difficulties. Conventional carbon fibers are expensive and difficult to produce.
