摘要: The system and method provide ways to achieve vascular access, e.g., for chronic hemodialysis. The system includes a port which may be bonded to a vascular graft which is installed between an artery and vein. A movable seal occludes a lumen of the port which when deployed allows access to the blood flow, allowing hemodialysis. A stent may be employed with an extension that is part of the graft. A connector may lock on to the port to deploy the seal to make a connection between the patient and a dialyzer. A cap may cover the port and seal for sterility. Methods of using the system are also disclosed.

摘要: Methods and systems are described for creating chronic vascular access or hemodialysis. These methods and systems eliminate the insertion of needles which are now required for using the available methods of obtaining vascular access. Thus multiple complications due to needle insertion through skin, tissue, and vein or graft wall are prevented. A low-profile stable transcutaneous implant's external surface and stability minimizes infection. The implant is readily joined to a connector device that functions substantially automatically and which provides high blood flow volumes for hemodialysis.

摘要: A biomedical haemostatic powder dispenser (1) by which individual doses of powdered medication that are stored in respective chambers of a rotatable carousel (22) are fluidized for delivery to a targeted treatment site (e.g., a wound in order to stop bleeding). In particular, a squeeze handle (7) is activated (i.e., depressed) so as to cause a blast of gas under pressure to be applied from a gas reservoir (30) to a particular one of the powder-filled chambers of the medication carousel so that a single measured does of medication is entrained and delivered to the patient. At the same time that the squeeze handle is activated, the medication carousel is rotated so that a different powder-filled chamber is moved within a fluid path between the gas reservoir and an outlet nozzle tube (10) of the dispenser and a kit for dispensing a powder.

摘要: Generally discussed herein are devices, systems, and methods for predicting fan failure. A method includes providing, to a first NN that models nominal behavior of a first fan and provides a value indicating a first amount of deviation from nominal as an output, first parameters of fan operation of the first fan, receiving, from the first NN and responsive to the first parameters, first data indicating the first amount of deviation from nominal, providing, to a second NN that models nominal behavior of a second fan and provides a value indicating a second amount of deviation from nominal as an output, second parameters of fan operation of the second fan, receiving, from the second NN and responsive to the first parameters, second data indicating the second amount of deviation from nominal, and estimating that the first or second fan has failed by comparing the first and second data.
