Abstract:
A method and apparatus of interpreting a user's touch at a touch screen interface device is disclosed. One example may include instructing the user to draw a certain figure on the touch screen interface device, and detecting the user's touch on the touch screen interface device. Further operations may include identifying the user's touch as a plurality of coordinates within a predefined area designated as the user's interface device, and comparing touch strength pressure measurements of the user's touch coordinates with touch strength pressure measurement threshold values stored in a memory of a computing device. Additional operations may also include adjusting the touch strength pressure measurement threshold values based on the touch strength pressure measurements of the user's touch coordinates.
Abstract:
The present application describes performing a user initiated search query comprising receiving user input comprising description details of at least one desired object, retrieving a plurality of objects from a database sharing one or more of the description details of the user input, retrieving an image of the at least one desired object based on one or more of the plurality of objects, generating a contour of the image and comparing the generated contour with other related contours of other images stored in the database, displaying all of the available contours of all of the images that match the generated contour, receiving a selection of one of the available contours from the user and performing the search query based on the user selected contour.
Abstract:
A system and method for uplink power control in a wireless communications system are provided. A method for power control of uplink transmissions by a communications device includes computing a power offset based on a signal target and a measured received signal power strength, generating a power control command from the power offset, and transmitting the power control command to the communications device. The signal target is based on control information provided by the communications device.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for the transmission of short data bursts in CDMA/HDR networks. Dormant access terminals are assigned to a common traffic channel and rate group by an access point. The access point then informs the access terminals of the assigned common traffic channels and rate groups. The access point then transmits short data bursts to the dormant access terminals using the assigned common traffic channels and rate groups. If an access terminal fails to acknowledge receipt of a short data burst, then the access terminal is re-assigned to a new common traffic channel and rate group and transmission of the short data bursts is re-attempted. If an access terminal fails to acknowledge receipt of a short data burst more than a predetermined number of times, then the access terminal is placed in an active mode of operation. The transmission of short data bursts may be further assigned to time slots within the common traffic channels and rate groups in order to conserve the resources of the access terminals.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus of providing a touch sensitive interface to multiple users is disclosed. Example may include a method and apparatus to create a user menu option that a user may select to operate a particular application. The method may include determining an event has occurred based on a user selection operation and storing the occurrence of the event in memory, and determining the user's last command executed and storing the last command in the memory. Further operations may include identifying a sequence of events stored in the memory that match the user's last command executed and providing the menu option to the user based on the identified sequence of events stored in the memory, and prompting the use to select the menu option.
Abstract:
Performing a user initiated search query is disclosed and comprises receiving user input comprising description details of at least one desired object, retrieving a plurality of objects from a database sharing one or more of the description details of the user input, constructing a tree data structure based on the description details of the plurality of objects, the tree data structure comprising one or more attributes related to each of the plurality of objects retrieved, displaying visual images associated with the retrieved plurality of objects, the visual images matching at least one of the attributes related to the plurality of objects, and receiving a user selection of one or more of the visual images.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to a technique for determining a valid touch event on a touch sensitive device. At least two touch events are received from a touch interface. The at least two touch events are combined if a time difference between each of the at least two touch events is less than a time threshold and a proximity between each of the at least two touch events is less than a proximity threshold. A valid touch event is determined if a combined pressure indicator of a combined touch event is greater than a pressure threshold.
