    摘要： A kit of components for encapsulating a branchout splice to an installed power distribution cable and the like and a method of installing the components all of which include a longitudinally slit sidewall. The kit includes a resilient tubular splice housing having an interlocking portion and slit elastomeric grommets sealing the cabling to the housing ends. A sleeve valve encircles the housing and closes a potting compound charging port. The kit includes a ductile splice connector having slit tubular passages clenchable about exposed surfaces of cabling conductors to hold them spliced together. Additional slit sleeves serve as adapter grommets for accommodating smaller cable sizes.

    摘要： A capping accessory for hermetically sealing a cable end temporarily or permanently. The accessory is typically molded in one piece from a thermoplastic material sealable to potting compound and preferably includes a locator boss within its inner end as well as a plurality of flexible tangs projecting axially from its open end with their free ends securable to the adjacent surface of a cable assembled into the accessory. Adhesive tape wrapped about the cable in an area intermediate the top and bottom of the accessory aids in centering the cable therewithin as well as acts as an anchor ring to hold the cable against withdrawal from potting compound filling the accessory and surrounding the anchor ring.

    摘要： A reusable multipurpose protective jacket assembly for cable splices including a fluidtight resilient inner plaque and a larger nonstretchable restraining plaque each provided with means for holding the same wrapped about an incomplete splice. The inner stretchable rubber plaque is coated with tacky material readily sealable to the cable sheath and to its uncoated surface to provide a fluid-type bladderlike enclosure for the splice and which is then inflatable with gas from the gas charged cable to safeguard against entry of moisture. The outer plaque provides a restraining shroud to protect and prevent blowout of the rubber bladder. Additionally, the restraining shroud can be suspended between an open splice and a wet manhole wall to shield the splice from the wet wall while splicing is in progress.

    摘要： A grounding assembly for use in completing a high strength solderless connection between conductive means and a grounding conductor supported in the earth, such as a pipe or stake. Either single or multiple solderless terminal units can be held captive adjustably along a single clamping band. The solderless terminal units can also be used alone or in multiple to provide assurance of a better and a higher capacity connection with the ground stake or pipe. These terminal units also include tempered sharp edges in high pressure contact with both the ground wire and the ground stake.
