摘要： The present invention describes a planetary differential including a differential case rotatable about an axis. The differential case includes a cover, a housing, an annulus gear, and a ring gear. The differential case defines a differential cavity having a clutch cavity and a planet cavity separated by a retainer plate coupled to the housing. The modular nature of this system allows both open and torque biasing constructions in the same packaging space. The present invention is further directed to a method of manufacturing a planetary differential having a differential case with a cover and a housing, an annulus gear, and a ring gear. The differential case has a clutch cavity and axial opening defined by the housing and a planet cavity. The method includes the steps of coupling a retainer plate to the housing between the clutch cavity and the axial opening, placing a planetary gear set in the planetary cavity, and fixing the housing to the annulus gear and ring gear.

A gear that rotates in the housing includes surfaces that pass through the fluid as the gear rotates and on which the fluid is carried to the interior surfaces of the housing. A bearing located in the housing is supplied with fluid from a fluid path that hydraulically connects the interior surfaces and the bearing.

摘要： A shift fork/gate assembly is provided for use in a manual transmission of the type including a gear train having a plurality of gears disposed thereon and a shift control assembly for selecting one of the plurality of gears. The shift fork/gate assembly includes a shift fork member engaging a synchronizer device along the gear train. A gate member is connected to the fork member by inserting a portion of the gate member into an aperture formed in the fork member. The gate member selectively cooperates with a blocker of the shift control assembly to selectively prevent movement of the shift fork member until the shift control assembly is properly aligned.
