Abstract:
A rotary conductor roll intended to be partially immersed in an electrolyte in a manufacturing line for continuously electroplating a strip (2), the roll includes, on its periphery, at least one electrically conductive active zone (3) and at least one coated zone (41) coated with a flexible material which may optionally be associated with an adhesive and which serves to seal the contact between the strip (2) and the conductive active zone (3) from the electrolyte. At least one intermediate ring (42) is interposed between said conductive active zone (3) and said coated zone (41), said intermediate ring being made of a polymer for which at least one of the following coefficients is intermediate in value between the corresponding coefficients of the material constituting the conductive active zone (3) and of the material constituting said coated zone (41), said coefficients being: coefficient of expansion, flexibility, and swelling due to contact with the electrolyte, e.g. by absorption or by chemical combination.
Abstract:
This process consists in taking vegetal juice obtained by pressing at least one vegetal substance, adjusting its pH before sulfiting it, clarifying it, then subjecting it to microfiltration through a membrane. The microfiltered juice is subjected to controlled alcoholic fermentation in a carbon dioxide atmosphere. This process results in new alcoholic drinks having very pleasant organoleptic properties. An installation for industrially carrying out the process applied to cane sugar results in cane wine and pure cane spirit.

A connection device for a cable incorporating both optical fibres (10) and metal conductors (34), comprising (a) a socket including a barrel with male electrical connection members (25), a ferrule containing the optical fibres (28) and an angular position defining device (29), and (b) a connector including a barrel with female electrical connection members (6), a ferrule containing the optical fibres (9) and an angular position defining device. The connector and/or socket are connected to a body (2) joined to the end of a cable and comprising means (30, 31, 32, 33) permitting relative rotation of the connector and/or socket relative to the end of the corresponding cable.

A switching device is provided, for measuring capacities, comprising n branches in parallel with n.gtoreq.1, each branch being formed by a capacity to be measured and a switch, the assembly of switches being subjected to a control signal which successively connects each capacity in parallel across the measuring bridge. Each switch may assume two positions, one of the positions connecting electrically the first plate of the capacitor to be measured to one of the ends of the measuring bridge, the other position connecting electrically the first plate to the second one and to the other end of said measuring bridge.

The installation comprises a set of radial type cells (25a, 25b). The electrical supply of the strip (16) to be coated constituting the cathode is ensured by way of two electrically conducting deflector rollers (20) each mounted rotatably about an axle parallel to the axle of the drum (8) of the electrolysis cell. The deflector rollers (20) are arranged at least in part below the upper level of the drum (8) close to its outer surface. Two support rollers (21a, 21b) associated with each of the deflector rollers ensure the holding of the strip against the deflector roller over a substantial part of its periphery and as far as a zone close to the part of the outer surface of the drum (8) which is submerged in the electrolytic liquid (2). The invention applies in particular to the electrogalvanizing of a steel sheet.
