摘要: An exhaust system for use with a diesel engine includes a diesel particulate filter configured to capture particulate matter exhausted from the diesel engine, a first sensor operable to detect a particulate matter accumulation level within the diesel particulate filter, and a second sensor operable to detect an ambient temperature of an environment surrounding the diesel particulate filter. The exhaust system also includes a control module electrically coupled to the first sensor, the second sensor, and the diesel particulate filter. The control module is operable to adjust a first regeneration threshold based on the detected ambient temperature. The control module is also operable to initiate regeneration of the diesel particulate filter when the detected particulate matter accumulation level reaches the first regeneration threshold.

摘要: A method of powering a refrigeration system. The method includes providing a mover and an alternator, the alternator being coupled to the mover and generating a power signal. The method also includes monitoring at a control a plurality of system parameters and sending a control signal based on the system parameters from the control. The method further includes receiving the power signal and the control signal at an inverter-based device which has a plurality of inverters, converting the power signal into a controlled power signal based on the control signal, and driving a plurality of components of the refrigeration system with the controlled power signal, which are also controlled by the control.

摘要: Apparatus for and method of rapidly bringing a controlled space to a desired temperature. The technique is particularly applicable to the maintenance of controlled temperature spaces for the transportation of perishable cargo, such as in refrigeration trucks. Immediately following completion of the loading process, it is desirable to bring the internal temperature of the controlled space to the proper operating point as quickly as possible to retard spoilage. However, it is necessary to avoid unacceptable overshoot to prevent damage to the cargo by freezing. The disclosed system employs multiple sensors and a control algorithm to permit pull down to occur as rapidly as possible without unacceptable overshoot.

摘要: Apparatus for and method of long-term control of the temperature within a refrigerated space, such as the cargo compartment of a refrigeration truck. The technique employs sensors which monitor both discharge and return air. A control algorithm uses the multiple sensors to control modes of a refrigeration unit capable of supplying cooled or heated air. This causes the temperature within the refrigerated space to remain within a narrow range about a target temperature. The target is chosen to provide maximum safety for the cargo. If the target temperature is too high, the cargo is needlessly exposed to spoilage. If the target temperature is too low, the cargo is subject to the risk of damage from freezing.
