Abstract: A method includes receiving a polling time period and determining a respective polling time for each network device in a plurality of network devices, wherein each respective polling time is distributed evenly across the polling time period. The method further includes determining a time-out time span. The time-out time span includes a start time equivalent to a polling time period end time and an end time. The method additionally includes polling each network device in the plurality of network devices at each respective polling time. The polling includes sending a first message to a first particular network device, and, in response to sending the first message, listening for a response to the first message until the end time of the time-out time span. The polling further includes flagging the first particular network device for review after the end time of the time-out time span.

Abstract: A vehicle interior cooling system (200) for a vehicle having a cabin (208) and an engine (207) for providing propulsion power generally includes a first cabin cooling system (202) driven by the engine of the vehicle having a first condenser (214). The vehicle interior cooling system also generally includes a second cabin cooling system (203) driven by electrical power having a cold storage device (210) and a second condenser (232), with the first condenser and the second condenser being in an airflow line (260). The second cabin cooling system selectively thermally charges the cold storage device when the engine is in an on position. The second cabin cooling system is also selectable to thermally cool the cabin when the engine is in an off position and selectable to thermally cool the cabin when the engine is in the on position.

Abstract: An elastomeric composite web (20) includes an elastomeric-substrate (22), and an operative layer of an elastomeric polypropylene-based adhesive material (24) or other surface modifying agent which is adhered or otherwise applied directly to at least one major, facing-side (26) of the elastomeric-substrate (22). In particular aspects, the layer of the surface modifying agent (24) has been provided separate from the elastomeric-substrate (22), and the layer of surface modifying agent (24) has been applied directly to the elastomeric-substrate (22) while the elastomeric-substrate has been operatively configured in a substantially unstretched condition. In other aspects, the elastomeric-substrate (22) can have a distinctively high basis weight, and the layer of surface modifying agent (24) can be applied directly to the elastomeric-substrate (22) prior to attaching the elastomeric-substrate to any separately provided, substantially non-elastomeric, supplemental-substrate. In a further aspect, the elastomeric-substrate (22) can be substantially free of continuous, elastomeric strands.

Abstract: Absorbent articles having leg extensions are disclosed. The absorbent articles may include, for instance, an outer cover, a liner, and an absorbent structure positioned in between the liner and the outer cover. The absorbent structure includes a crotch area and leg extensions that extend downwardly from the crotch area and are configured to lay adjacent the thighs of a user. The leg extensions assist in wicking liquids away from the crotch area when the absorbent article is insulted with a liquid. In one embodiment, the leg extensions comprise at least 30% by weight of the absorbent structure or, alternatively comprise at least 30% of the total surface area of the absorbent structure.

Abstract: A compression belt cartridge for use with chest compression devices. The compression belt cartridge has a double-oar shaped belt and a cover plate through which the belt is threaded. The cover plate is provided with hooks and snap latches that fit into a belt drive platform. The cover plate is sized and dimensioned to fit within only selected platforms. The belt attaches to the means for tightening the belt via a spline attached to the belt. The means for tightening a belt then repetitively tightens the belt, thereby accomplishing chest compressions.
