摘要： A fire hose coupling, such as a quarter-turn Storz-style coupling, comprises a substantially annular body having a first end connected to a fire hose and a second end having internal engagement lugs for connecting to lugs on another coupling. The coupling includes at least one locking lever movable between an unlocked position and a locked position, the lever locking the annular body of the coupling to the other coupling. The one or more locking levers comprise a light-reflecting surface to improve visibility of the lever. This facilitates assembly and disassembly of the couplings in conditions of poor visibility.

The coupling also comprises a second coupler body adapted to be coupled to the first coupler body to form the coupling, the second coupler body having a second recessed portion that includes a second visual indication matching the first visual indication. Color-coded stickers or adhesive-backed high-visibility decals may be adhered to the recessed portions. The couplings may be recoded by adhering differently colored stickers. This technology enables firefighters to quickly and easily color-code their hoses for identification purposes. Because of the recesses, the color-coded stickers are substantially protected from abrasion or wear and tear.

摘要： An RF generator power supply comprises a first switched mode power supply (SMPS) connected in series to a second SMPS by a DC bus. A capacitor is arranged between the outputs of the first SMPS and inputs of the second SMPS to act as a smoothing capacitor for the first SMPS and to supply pulse energy to the second SMPS. The second SMPS has an output connected to an input of a step-up transformer and an output of the step-up transformer is connected to an input of a rectifier connectable to the RF generator. An input of the first SMPS is connectable to a prime power supply to maintain a high power factor with low harmonic content while setting an operating voltage and peak current level for the RF generator. The second SMPS is arranged to feed the step-up transformer and is arranged to operate with a variable duty cycle and/or variable frequency to provide average power control of the RF generator. The second SMPS is rapidly switched off on detection of a power surge through the RF generator.

摘要： The invention relates to systems and methods that improve distribution of fuel cartridges. The cartridges include compatibility information. A controller on the device validates the compatibility information before permitting fuel provision from the cartridge to the device. Invalid compatibility information, or absence of the compatibility information, then denies fuel flow to the device. This permits the device to validate that the cartridge and its contents are acceptable. This improves distribution by allowing the device or fuel cell manufacturer to implement cartridge selectivity by permitting cartridges from select manufacturers to provide fuel and denying cartridge of other manufacturers from providing fuel. Compatibility information stored in the cartridge memory may also be encrypted to prevent open access to the compatibility information. The compatibility information also improves fuel refilling distribution. In this case, the compatibility information permits a cartridge or device manufacturer to selectively control who can refill their cartridges.

The functional fluid may be a lubricant, fuel or other functional fluid of innumerable sources, including internal combustion engines, turbines, transmissions, differentials, pumps, metalworking operations, cooling systems, etc, and be either organic solvent or aqueous based.

A sequence of words is read from the one or more documents and a score is determined for each word in the sequence based on the length of the word. The score for each word in the sequence is compared against a threshold score. The sequence of words is indicated to be a significant phrase if the number of words in the sequences that have a score greater than the threshold score equals or exceeds a predetermined number. A sentence containing the sequence of words is retrieved from the document, if the sequence of words is a significant phrase. An abstract of the document is searched to determine if the sentence has been previously included in the abstract. If not, the sentence is added to the abstract.
