    摘要: Methods and apparatuses for providing CQI feedback to a transmitter station are described herein. In one implementation, an apparatus may include a transceiver to transmit and receive signals to and from a transmitter station, and a controller coupled to the transceiver to control the transceiver to transmit to the transmitter station a first channel quality indicator (CQI) that corresponds to a first modulation level to be used by the transmitter station to transmit first signals, and to control the transceiver to transmit to the transmitter station a differential indicator that comprises two bits or less to differentially indicate a second CQI relative to the first CQI, wherein the second CQI corresponds to a second modulation level to be used by the transmitter station to transmit second signals.     摘要: Methods and apparatuses for reducing an amount of bandwidth required for feedback to a transmitter station in a closed-loop multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system are described herein. The methods may include initially measuring at a receiver station channel qualities associated with receiving signals from a transmitter station for a first and a second spatial channel, the transmitter and receiver stations employing a closed-loop MIMO system. The receiver station may then determine a first and a second channel quality indicator (CQI) based on the measured channel qualities and may then transmit to the transmitter station the first and the second CQI to directly and indirectly identify a first and a second modulation coding scheme (MCS) entry among a plurality of ordered MCS entries, respectively. The second MCS entry being one of a selected subset of lower ordered MCS entries relative to the first MCS entry. The transmitter station may selectively use the first and the second identified MCS to transmit signals to the receiver station over the first and the second spatial channel, respectively.

    摘要: A unified open loop single-user/multiple-user multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) system and method are disclosed. The system and method operate without use of channel state information feedback. Instead, the method utilizes channel quality indicator feedback to schedule users to spatial resource blocks. Both symmetric multi-user MIMO schemes (like 2×2 and 4×4) and asymmetric multi-user MIMO schemes are considered. CQI feedback and reduction proposals are also introduced. The method may be used in a proposed network topology.
