    摘要： A vehicle latch assembly includes a release lever and a pawl, the release lever having a locked, an unlocked and a release position where the unlocked position is on the path of movement of the release lever from the release position to the locked position. The release lever is biased by a biasing means toward the unlocked position when it is in the release position. The latch assembly is arranged so that the release lever moves toward the locked position due to the biasing force of the biasing means when the release lever is released. The kinetic energy of the release lever is transferred to the pawl in the latch assembly, and the pawl uses the transferred kinetic energy to prevent the release lever from reaching the locked position. When the release lever is stationary in the unlocked position, the pawl does not prevent movement of the release lever from the unlocked to the locked position.

    摘要： A latch assembly includes a chassis, a latch bolt moveably mounted on the chassis and having a closed position for retaining a striker and an open position for releasing the striker, a pawl having an engaged position at which the pawl is engaged with the latch bolt to hold the latch bolt in the closed position and a disengaged position at which the pawl is disengaged from the latch bolt, thereby allowing the latch bolt to move to the open position, an eccentric arrangement defining an eccentric axis and a pawl axis remote from the eccentric axis. The eccentric arrangement is rotatable about the eccentric axis, and the pawl is rotatable about the pawl axis. When the pawl moves from the engaged position to the disengaged position, the eccentric arrangement rotates in one of a clockwise and a counter-clockwise direction about the eccentric axis. With the pawl in the engaged position, a force applied to the pawl by the latch bolt creates a turning moment on the eccentric arrangement in the one of the clockwise and counter-clockwise direction, and the eccentric arrangement is prevented from rotating in said one of the clockwise and counter-clockwise direction by a moveable abutment.

    摘要： Vehicle door latch mechanism with child safety facility includes a base plate 12 having a throat 14 which receives a striker with which the latch engages. A main actuating lever 16 is operable by an exterior door handle and/or power actuator to release the latch and has an arm 22 carrying a longitudinally slidable drive dog 24. A release lever 18 operable only by an inside door handle is pivoted in a plane normal to the plane of arm 22. A rotatable button 26 in throat 14 so as to be accessible only when the door is open has crank connection to dog 24 to shift it between a drive position at which the levers coact and a disabling position at which movement of release lever 18 will not drive lever 16.

    摘要： A vehicle door latch assembly including a latch (10) operatively co-acting with a striker as the door nears its closed position, a latching pawl (16) self-engaging with the latch (10) to hold it in latched condition retaining the door, and unlatching means selectively operable to disengage the latching pawl (16) for opening the door, unlatching means comprising a pawl lifter (20) moveable from a position of rest to carry the latching pawl (16) out of engagement with the latch (10) and a power driven output member (28) selectively moveable to engage and displace the pawl lifter (20) from the position of rest. The output member (28) is a plunger (28) advanced and retracted by a drive motor (22) and is also displaceable laterally to an inactive angular position at which it does not engage with the pawl lifter, whereby, if power should fail, manual operation of the pawl lifter for unlatching will not be obstructed by the plunger.
