Abstract:
A latch assembly includes a chassis, a latch bolt moveably mounted on the chassis and having a closed position for retaining a striker and an open position for releasing the striker, a pawl having an engaged position at which the pawl is engaged with the latch bolt to hold the latch bolt in the closed position and a disengaged position at which the pawl is disengaged from the latch bolt, thereby allowing the latch bolt to move to the open position, an eccentric arrangement defining an eccentric axis and a pawl axis remote from the eccentric axis. The eccentric arrangement is rotatable about the eccentric axis, and the pawl is rotatable about the pawl axis. When the pawl moves from the engaged position to the disengaged position, the eccentric arrangement rotates in one of a clockwise and a counter-clockwise direction about the eccentric axis. With the pawl in the engaged position, a force applied to the pawl by the latch bolt creates a turning moment on the eccentric arrangement in the one of the clockwise and counter-clockwise direction, and the eccentric arrangement is prevented from rotating in said one of the clockwise and counter-clockwise direction by a moveable abutment.
Abstract:
A locking device (1) in a vehicle, in particular for a vehicle seat, is provided with a base plate (3) which has a receptacle (5) for a counter element (B). At least one clamping eccentric (11) is mounted pivotably on the base plate (3) by means of a first bearing pin (9) and normally, on account of prestressing, secures the counter element (B) in the receptacle (5). At least one intercepting component (21) is likewise mounted pivotably on the base plate (3) and, in the event of a crash, leads to the counter element (B) being supported. The clamping eccentric (11) and the intercepting component (21) act directly on the counter element (B).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a closure means for holding closed a door which is able to hinge in a frame, comprising a securing means which can be positioned on a first edge of the closed door and also a tightening unit which can be positioned on a second edge of the closed door and a cable or strap which, when the door is closed, runs through a gap between the door and frame and is fastened at one end to the securing means and fastened at the other end in the tightening unit, the tightening unit comprising inter alia a base plate with an opening for feeding through the cable or strap and also a tightening mechanism for tensioning and holding under tension the cable or strap guided through the opening and a cap with a lock which can be positioned on the base plate so as to produce a seal around the tightening mechanism. According to the invention, the securing means comprises a support extending on both sides of the cable or strap over a distance which is greater than the gap between the closed door and the frame, which distance is preferably greater than 5 mm.
Abstract:
A device includes a base secured in a car, a stopping block displaceable on the base, an actuating member for displacing the stopping block with, and a lock block secured around a steel rope of a control of a hood of the car, which control can be used to pull the steel rope for making the hood become openable; the stopping block has a big hole, and an horizontal slot communicating with the big hole and as high as center of the hole; the rope is passed through the stopping block with the lock block arranged behind the stopping block; the lock block can't pass through the slot; the stopping block is displaceable to such position as to exactly face the lock block at the slot, preventing the rope from being displaced; thus, thieves can't open the hood to cut off the power to the alarm for stopping sounding of the alarm.

Abstract:
A combination key lock and latch assembly for a vehicle trunk lid having the key lock located separately and closely adjacent the latch assembly without requiring modification of an existing latch assembly. A sliding actuator is attached to an existing latch assembly without requiring modification. The key lock includes a projecting arm for rotation upon user rotation of the key lock; and, the arm contacts a projection on the sliding actuator for affecting movement and release of the latch. The latch assembly may be manually released from inside the trunk by moving the projection on the sliding actuator.
Abstract:
A locking device for a flap or door of a motor vehicle contains, in addition to the conventional flap or door lock which is unlockable and lockable by a lock cylinder, an additional bolt acting in parallel with the lock on a closing member of the same flap or door. The bolt is prestressed by a spring in the direction of its securing position and is movable mechanically in the direction of its release position by the lock cylinder via a linkage with a free-play connection.
Abstract:
A locking mechanism for the trunk lid of a motor vehicle has a component which assumes a first position when the trunk lid is closed and locked. The component may or may not project outward from the trunk lid in its first position. The component is capable of assuming a second position when the trunk lid is released. In the second position, the component projects outward from the trunk lid to such an extent that a portion of the component which is recessed in the trunk lid in the first position is now exposed. This portion of the component may be gripped in order to manipulate the trunk lid.
Abstract:
A lock system for a hinged window-mounted back door is disclosed which comprises a first lock mounted to a main door part for releasably holding the main door part in its closed position, a second lock mounted to the main door part for releasably holding an auxiliary door part in its closed position, a control device mounted to the main door part for releasing the latched condition of the first lock when assuming a first position and releasing the latched condition of said second lock when assuming a second position, and a restraining structure associated with one of the first and second locks for preventing the control device from assuming a position to allow one of the first and second locks to assume its unlatched condition when the other lock assumes its unlatched condition.
Abstract:
A frame into which a forward end of an automotive vehicle is driven, and secured, so as to prevent vehicle theft, the frame including adjustable bars, so as to clamp snugly against the vehicle, and, in one design, also including rollers against the vehicle wheels, that prevent the vehicle from riding off the frame.
