摘要: A display device includes a display panel, a polarization film, and a wave plate. Below the wave plate and the polarization film there is provided a plurality of optical sensors disposed within the display panel. The display panel includes first and second substrates facing each other and a plurality of pixels configured to display an image. The optical sensors are configured to sense light in one or more predetermined light bands. The wave plate is configured to rotate polarization of first light that has passed upwardly through the polarization film such that the combination of upward and downward (reflected) passage of the light is rotated by about 90 degrees. The so-rotated light is blocked from passing down through the polarization film; advantageously, the so-rotated light is prevented from interfering with the optical sensors.

摘要: A display device includes a display panel, a polarization film, and a wave plate. 摘要: A display apparatus used for creating 3D images has a display panel and a phase-delaying layer disposed on the display panel. The phase-delaying layer has first and second light-changing patterns that are self-aligned to at least one of pixels and a black matrix of the display panel. The self-aligned structure is formed by selectively passing curing light (e.g., UV light) through the display panel to cure curable liquid crystal films while the films are respectively aligned by aligning layers having different alignments.

摘要: A display apparatus including a display panel and a patterned retarder disposed on the display panel. The display apparatus displays a first image in a 2D mode and displays a second image including a left-eye image and a right-eye image in a 3D mode. Each of the sub-pixels included in the display panel includes two or three sub-pixel electrodes, and the patterned retarder includes a first retarder and a second retarder, which provide different directivities from each other to the left-eye image and the right-eye image, respectively. The first retarder is disposed corresponding to at least a portion of the sub-pixels and the second retarder is disposed corresponding to a remaining portion of the sub-pixels.
