Abstract: Apparatus and methods for concentrating platelet-rich plasma is described herein. One variation may generally comprise a tube having a length and defining a channel within and one or more ports located at a proximal end of the tube and in fluid communication with the channel. A plunger may slidably translatable within the channel while forming a seal against an inner surface of the channel and a float may have a pre-selected density and defining a concave interface surface, wherein the float is slidably contained within the channel such that the concave interface surface is in apposition to the one or more ports.

Abstract: Oxygen diffusive wound dressings and methods of manufacturing and use are described herein. The wound dressing may generally provide a ready supply of oxygen to a wound being treated via one or more oxygen conduits which are designed to pass oxygen from ambient air or other oxygen reservoirs into proximity to the wound, and may also provide for exudate removal through transecting channels in fluid communication with both the wound surface and a hydrophilic absorbent material.

Upon completion of the centrifugation, the first layer may be removed from the tube while the float isolates the second layer from the first layer.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for processing blood are disclosed in which one variation generally comprises a tube defining a channel and an access tube extending into the channel. An open cell matrix configured to entrap red blood cells may be positioned within at least a portion of the channel. Another variation generally comprises a cylindrical tube and a plunger slidably positioned within the channel. The plunger also has a funnel positioned upon the plunger and is movable therewith. Both the plunger and funnel define a fluid channel through and in communication with the cylindrical tube.

Abstract: Plasma/cell concentrator apparatus and methods are described herein for concentrating constituents from a fluid. Generally, a volume of the fluid may be urged from a first reservoir to a second reservoir through a fluid channel and a volume of desiccant for mixing with the fluid may be introduced to create a mixture. This fluid and desiccant mixture may be passed between the first and second reservoirs until one or more components from the fluid are absorbed by the desiccant. After mixing, the fluid may be withdrawn through a withdrawal channel which is in fluid communication with the fluid channel while preventing the desiccant from passing into the withdrawal channel.
