摘要:
A method of flexographic or rotogravure printing onto a plastic substrate using a water-based ink is disclosed wherein the improvement comprises adding to said ink from about 0.005 to about 5 weight percent of a low molecular weight silicone compound. The incorporation of the silicone compound provides good wetting of the substrate by the ink and results in improved printing characteristics.

The preparation of emulsions of light and heavy brines in a liquid hydrocarbon is described, using a polydiorganosiloxane bearing at least one polyoxyalkylene radical and at least one monovalent hydrocarbon radical having from 6 to 18 carbon atoms. The emulsions are useful in the well-drilling art as drilling fluids, completion fluids, packer fluids, spacer fluids and workover fluids because of their thermal stability and because they can be formulated to have a relatively high density, with or without added weighting agents.

A process for controlling foaming in highly acidic aqueous system using a silicone foam control agent is disclosed. The foam control agent consists essentially of (A) a dimethylpolysiloxane gum having a viscosity greater than about 150,000 Poise at 25.degree. C., (B) a non-ionic surfactant, (C) a siloxane copolymer dispersing agent and, optionally, (D) water.

Release agents which are durable when used in the release of sulfur during its processing are claimed. Methods of processing sulfur using the release agents are also claimed. One release agent consists essentially of certain carboxy functional siloxanes, a solvent, and certain titanates. Another release agent consists essentially of a polydimethylsiloxane fluid, a siloxane composed of SiO.sub.2 and (CH.sub.3).sub.3 SiO.sub.1/2 units, a solvent, and a titanate. A third release agent consists essentially of certain carboxy functional siloxanes, a polydimethylsiloxane fluid, a siloxane composed of SiO.sub.2 and (CH.sub.3).sub.3 SiO.sub.1/2 units, a solvent, and certain titanates.

Self-lubricating bearings and other machine elements are prepared by admixing perfluoroalkylene polymers such as polytetrafluoroethylene with defined inorganic solid lubricants and epoxy resins followed by a cold molding technique and heating cycle which allows the economical production of large numbers of self-lubricating parts with excellent precision and low dimensional change.
