Abstract:
A color filter substrate has a transparent substrate; a color filter layer, disposed on the transparent substrate; an inorganic layer, disposed in a predetermined spatial relationship with the color filter layer; and a patterned conductive layer, disposed with the inorganic layer, wherein the patterned conductive layer has a plurality of slits exposing a portion of the inorganic layer.
Abstract:
An approach for selecting communications channels to be used by a communication system includes evaluating for the presence of one or more signals both a particular communications channel currently being used by the communication system and one or more other communications channels. For the particular communications channel currently being used by the communication system, signals that use a different communications protocol than the communication system are evaluated. For the one or more other communications channels, both signals that use the same communications protocol as the communication system and signals that use a different communications protocol than the communication system are evaluated. The approach may include the use of metrics and classification of device types to determine one or more communications channels to be used by the communication system.
Abstract:
A digital data processing method for information retrieval and an information retrieval system thereof are provided. In an embodiment, the information retrieval system trains a personalized model according to a user's feedback perceptions of at least one information piece. With respect to information pieces and different users, the information retrieval system performs estimation, based on two different stages with a generalized model and the trained personalized model.

Abstract:
A duplex automatic document feeder includes first, second, third, and fourth paths, an ejecting path, a scanning module, first and second reversing roller units, a feeding tray, and an ejecting tray. A document is moved from the feeding tray to the scanning module for scanning of a first side surface thereof. Subsequently, the document is moved along a second-side scanning path defined by the first reversing roller unit, the third path, a portion of the first path, the fourth path, and the first reversing roller unit to allow for scanning of a second side surface thereof. After the first and second side surfaces are scanned, the document is moved along a document-inverting path defined by the second reversing roller unit, a portion of the fourth path, the ejecting path, a portion of the second path, the first reversing roller unit, and the ejecting tray.
Abstract:
An automatic document feeder includes first, second, third, and fourth paths for guiding movement of a document. The document is fed through the first path and a scanning module so as to allow for scanning of a first side surface of the document. Thereafter, a switching gate is pivoted to a first position so as to allow the document to be moved from a front section of the second path onto a roller unit via the fourth path and a rear section of the third path. The rotational direction of the middle roller is changed in response to movement of the document onto the roller unit so as to allow the document to be moved onto the first path via the third path, thereby allowing for a subsequent scanning operation on a second side surface of the document. The automatic document feeder further includes a document-inverting path such that documents are automatically arranged according to paper number.
Abstract:
An automatic document feeder for electric equipment includes an input tray, a driving mechanism, and a block mechanism. The input tray has a receiving end, a discharge end, and a first path extending from the receiving end to the discharge end. The driving mechanism includes a separating-roller shaft disposed above the input tray and in proximity to the discharge end, and a separating roller sleeved fixedly on the shaft. The blocking mechanism includes a blocking member pivotable between a blocking position whereat the blocking member is disposed on the first path, and a non-blocking position whereat the blocking member is removed from the first path. A driven arm is connected to and co-rotatable with the separating-roller shaft so as to pivot the blocking member between the blocking position and the non-blocking position.
Abstract:
The present invention meets these needs by providing temporal coherency to recognition systems. One embodiment of the present invention comprises a manifold recognition module to use a sequence of images for recognition. A manifold training module receives a plurality of training image sequences (e.g. from a video camera), each training image sequence including an individual in a plurality of poses, and establishes relationships between the images of a training image sequence. A probabilistic identity module receives a sequence of recognition images including a target individual for recognition, and identifies the target individual based on the relationship of training images corresponding to the recognition images. An occlusion module masks occluded portions of an individual's face to prevent distorted identifications.
Abstract:
A digital video image stabilization method features scene change detection, adaptive stabilization in two dimensions, prevention of accumulated-compensation saturation, multi-resolution motion estimation, and compatibility with MPEG video encoding standards. The method uses block-based motion estimation on a selected set of macroblocks, which generates and validates a set of motion vectors, to determine how a digital camcorder or other video recording device is moving; accumulates motion data to estimate and preserve overall motion due to panning while eliminating small variations due to shaking; and resets its accumulated motion data when it detects a scene change. The method uses this information to select a sub-image from a larger image for the selected video frame. When one or more edges of the sub-image approach the edges of the larger image, the method reduces its correction factor to transition smoothly to a faster pan and prevent saturation.
Abstract:
A movable backrest for a chair comprises a frame that is fixed to the chair, at least a flexible connecting element connected to the frame, and at least a backrest connected to the connecting element. Since the connecting element is flexible, the backrest and the back of the user can be moved simultaneously along with the movement of the back of the user, providing a comfortable support to the back of the user.
