Abstract:
Disclosed herein are novel compounds and uses thereof. The present compounds may suppress the activity of farnesyl transferase and thus, may act as modulators of immune cells; therefor, they are useful for the development of a medicament for treating diseases that are associated with or caused by excessive levels of farnesyl transferase or immune response. Also disclosed herein are pharmaceutical compositions containing the present compounds.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a radiotherapy system that can monitor a target location in real time. The radiotherapy system includes a remote control system operable to actuate a real-time image capturing device to acquire images in real time for monitoring the target location. The system also includes an image registration system that can register the acquired image with an image previously captured for the treatment plan, whereby it can be determined whether the patient's tumor is in the beam's eye view of the treatment plan. By confirming that the tumor is in the range of the beam's eye view, the accuracy of the treatment can be improved, and the irradiated area can be reduced, which makes the radiation treatment safer.
Abstract:
Novel Uses of small molecules, particularly, triterpenoids and ingol diterpenes isolated from Euphorbia neriifolia, are disclosed herein. The triterpenoids are useful as lead compounds for manufacturing a medicament or a pharmaceutical composition for treating cancer; whereas the ingol diterpenes are useful as lead compounds for manufacturing a medicament or a pharmaceutical composition for treating thrombocytopenia.
Abstract:
Novel Uses of small molecules, particularly, 6-methylsulfinylhexyl isothiocyanate and 6-methylsulfonylhexyl isothiocyanate, are disclosed herein. The two isothiocyanates are useful as lead compounds for manufacturing a medicament or a pharmaceutical composition for treating cancer, particularly drug-resistant cancer, in a patient.

Abstract:
In this patent, we isolated a novel compound from fruiting body of Antrodia cinnamomea, namely, (22R)-5α-lanosta-8,24-dien-3β,15α,21-triol. This compound possesses preferential cytotoxicity against human leukemia, pancreatic cancer, esophageal cancer, hepatoma, and cervical cancer cells.
Abstract:
A buck converter configured for converting a voltage output from a power supply to a load includes a first switch, a second switch, an inductor, three compensators and a control microchip. The first switch and the second switch are connected in series between two ends of the power supply. A first end of the inductor is connected to a node between the first switch and the second switch; a second end of the inductor serves as an output terminal connected to the load. The compensators are correspondingly connected to the first switch, the second switch and the inductor. The control microchip is electrically connected to the first and second switches and the node. The control microchip controls the first and second switches to turn on or off, and executes a current protective process when output current of the output terminal exceeds a current protective threshold of the load.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a signal processing apparatus and a signal processing method of a man-machine interface. The signal processing method comprises steps of: receiving a first touch signal; recognizing an object corresponding to the first touch signal; determining whether a second touch signal is received while receiving the first touch signal; and selecting the object corresponding to the first touch signal when receiving the second touch signal.

Abstract:
A linear modulation voltage transformer circuitry includes a power stage unit, a voltage division unit, a linear modulation unit, an error amplifier, and a recursive controller. The power stage unit adapts an input voltage and outputs a first voltage to the voltage division unit, which outputs a divided voltage. The linear modulation unit receives the divided voltage, compares it with a control voltage, and outputs an error voltage signal to the error amplifier, which amplifies the error voltage signal as an error gain control signal. The recursive controller receives and modulates the error gain control signal and outputs the modulation error gain control signal to the power stage unit as a reference signal so as for the power stage unit to modulate the first voltage. Thus, the first voltage can be varied in real time via the linear modulation unit to meet load demands.
