摘要: The present invention provides an apparatus and method for preserving a frame sequence and distributing traffic in a multi-channel link, which efficiently distributes frame traffic while preserving the transmission sequence of frames in a link composed of multiple channels, and to a multi-channel transmitter using the apparatus and method. The present invention determines whether the preservation of a sequence of frames is required using information about received frames, predicts a frame transmission service finish time on the basis of the length of frames if the sequence preservation is required, determines a sequence preservation service time (SPST) on the basis of the predicted transmission service finish time, stores the frames in a sequence preservation buffer for the SPST, and distributes the frames to idle transmitters at a termination point of the SPST, thus maximizing the efficiency of channel use.

摘要: Provided is an apparatus that enables improvement of efficiency of up/downstream packet tensception by reflecting a plurality of variables of packet transmission, such as a temporal variety of packet lengths, asymmetry of downstream and upstream traffics, and an instantaneous burst of a traffic amount, on a loop-back-based WDM-PON. The apparatus includes: a downstream code sensor sensing an idle code from a downstream data frame to be transmitted to an optical network terminal (ONT); a trailer transmission controller receiving an idle code sensing signal from the downstream code sensor and forming a trailer of the downstream data frame (hereinafter, a downstream trailer) by adding overhead for a reception control of the downstream data frame by the ONT and a transmission control of an upstream data frame to be loop-back-transmitted from the ONT; an upstream code sensor receiving and sensing a trailer of the loop-back-transmitted upstream data frame (hereinafter, an upstream trailer); and a trailer reception controller receiving overhead information, which is added by the ONT, for a reception control of the upstream data frame from the upstream code sensor and controlling a reception of the upstream data frame.

摘要: The invention relates to an Ethernet-based all-optical carrier sense multiple access/collision detection apparatus and method, and more particularly, to an apparatus and method capable of checking by using mutual gain saturation whether distortion occurs in two or more optical signals due to mutual interference when the optical signals pass through a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) at the same time, amplifying the optical signals transmitted in the upward direction when no distortion occurs in the optical signals, and monitoring the occupation of a plurality of subscribers with respect to a common network when the plurality of subscribers want to use an optical Ethernet network. The Ethernet-based all-optical carrier sense multiple access/collision detection apparatus according to the invention includes: a plurality of optical network units (ONUs) that carry different optical signals on upstream waves λ and transmit the upstream waves λ; a power splitter (PS) that multiplexes the optical signals and transmits the multiplexed optical signals; and a central office (CO) that checks whether the multiplexed optical signals are distorted, amplifies some of the checked optical signals, returns the other optical signals, and monitors the occupation of the plurality of optical network units with respect to a common network. According to the invention, it is possible to dynamically check whether a collision between the optical signals passing through the common network occurs and whether the optical signals are successfully transmitted. Further, since the invention uses an all-optical type, the existing electric media access control (MAC) device is not needed, which results in a high-speed operation. In addition, the invention can be used for a plurality of subscribers using an inexpensive light source. Thus, the invention can be effectively used for an optical communication industry.

摘要: A termination device for use in a WDM-SCM PON system can effectively support a multi-channel integration function of a WDM/SCM PON system. The termination device contained in a termination end of a WDM/SCM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing/Sub-Carrier Multiplexing) PON (Passive Optical Network) to connect the PON with either a subscriber or an Ethernet service network includes: an Ethernet interface module connected to the Ethernet service network or the subscriber to perform an Ethernet interface function; a WDM/SCM physical layer module physically connected to the WDM/SCM PON to transmit/receive optical signals to/from the WDM/SCM PON; and a MAC (Media Access Control)-bridge module for performing a multiplexing/demultiplexing operation based on a MAC address upon receipt of transmission/reception frames, and reconstructing preambles of the frames while being classified according to channels so that individual Ethernet frames are matching-processed while being classified according to SCM channels of the WDM/SCM physical layer module.
