摘要： A mounting means for a pair of nip rollers which comprises at each end of the pair of rollers an external mounting plate and an apertured plate, each roller of the said pair having at each end a spindle mounted in a spindle bearing, the bearings passing through one of the apertured plates and being connected to one of the mounting plates, the bearings connected to one roller being a fixed pair and the bearings connected to the other roller being a movable pair, the movable pair being biassed towards the fixed pair, each apertured plate having an aperture in which one of the fixed bearings is located and an aperture in which one of the movable bearings is located but which is greater in area than the diameter of the movable bearing, each movable bearing being attached to one of the mounting plates by a peg mounted thereon that locates in an aperture that is eccentric with regard to its centre so that the bearing is able to rotate about the peg in a direction towards or away from the fixed bearing, the amount of rotation being limited by the shape of the aperture in the apertured plate in which it is located.

摘要： This invention relates to new photographic material and a process for the production of said material. The material is produced by coating on a support an aqueous silver halide emulsion which, in addition to gelatin, comprises a copolymer latex derived from I a monomer of the alkyl acrylate type and II a monomer which is a hydroxy substituted alkyl acrylate or methacrylate. 摘要： Photographic silver halide emulsions containing a supersensitizing combination comprising a dye of the formula:
WHERE R4, R6, R7, R8, R10, R11 and X have the meanings assigned to them above, R12 is an alkyl group, R13 is selected from the same class consisting of hydrogen and alky, R14 is selected from the class consisting of an alkyl group and a group A-Q where A is selected from the class consisting of straight and branched alkylene chains containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms and Q is selected from the class consisting of an amide, a carbonyl, and a sulfonic acid group, R15 and R16 are each selected from hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, aryl, alkoxy and hydroxy groups. A third dye may also be used in the combination.
WHERE Y and Z are selected from the class consisting of sulfur and selenium, at least one of the groups R1 and R3 are alkyl, the other groups being selected from the class consisting of alkyl, carboxyalkyl, carbamoylalkyl and sulphoalkyl, R2 is selected from the class consisting of hydrogen and alkyl, at least one of the groups R5 and R9 is a thienyl group, the other groups R5 and R9 being selected from the class consisting of hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, aryl, hydroxy and alkoxy groups and together with either R4 or R8, depending on whether R5 or R9 carries the thienyl substituent group form part of a benzene ring, R4 and R8 taken separately each represent a hydroxy atom, R6 and R10 taken separately are each selected from the class consisting of a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl, aryl, hydroxy and alkoxy groups, R7 and R11 taken separately each represent a hydrogen atom, R6 and R7 taken together form part of a benzene ring, R10 and R11 taken together form part of a benzene ring and X is an anion, together with a dye of the formula:-

摘要： This application describes a method for the production of a self-supporting plastic-material film assembly which comprises coating onto a casting surface a thin layer of a solution of plastic material or a plurality of superimposed thin layers of solutions of plastic materials, each layer being dried before any subsequent layer is applied, the improvement which comprises coating on the dried top layer of plastic material a relatively thick layer of a plastisol, heating this layer to solidify the plastisol and removing the thus prepared film assembly from the casting surface, each layer of the assembly being selected so as to be strongly adherent in the product to the layer or layers with which it is in contact.
