摘要： The present invention is directed at an improved method for forming two-tone trim panels for automobiles and the like, wherein the color demarcation line between color regions of the panel skin may be hidden in a narrow groove or joint. The groove in the formed skin may be formed by the expansion pressure of foam conforming the skin to a narrow projection in a foam mold. Alternatively, a narrow groove may be formed by skiving or embossing along the color demarcation line.

摘要： A universal accessory attachment system for the interior of a vehicle is designed to connect any one or more of a variety of accessories to various vehicle panels within a vehicle. The attachment system includes an accessory having a male connector configured to selectively attach the accessory to a vehicle panel located within the vehicle. The vehicle panel defines a female connector sized and shaped to receive the male connector. The male connector of the accessory cooperates with the female connector within the vehicle to selectively attach the accessory within the vehicle.

摘要： An assist strap is installed by rotating an assist strap handle to drive a mandrel, in the base of the assist strap, into a projection in a service on which the assist strap is mounted. An apparatus for mounting an assist strap in a motor vehicle includes projecting fastening means extending from the base of the assist strap and a mandrel mounted to slide between a first position disengaged from the fastening means and a second position wherein the mandrel engages the fastening means to limit the movement of the fastening means thereby locking the fastening means to the vehicle body structure. A handle may be mounted to the base for pivotal movement such that applying a force to the handle drives the mandrel from the first position to the second position. Additionally, the handle may be secured in a preassembly position utilizing a breakaway tab such that the force necessary to drive the mandrel from the first position to the second position is less than the force required to rupture the breakaway tab securing the handle in a preassembled position.

摘要： A portable storage device and filing system is provided for use in a transportation vehicle. The system comprises a case which may be engaged with an interior trim component, such as an interior sidewall, and the device may appear to be part of the interior vehicle trim. The device may be accessed by articulating the sides of the case away from one another to expose the interior of the case. The interior of the case may include an expandable compartment having dividers or folders for storage and organizing of loose pieces of paper. The case may be trimmed to coordinate with the interior theme of the vehicle when stored in the vehicle.

摘要： A vehicle security system includes a local area pager and additional anti-drive away protection. The remote transmitter of the system preferably includes a housing that is separated into two portions. A first portion is retained by the vehicle owner while a second portion is provided to a parking attendant with the vehicle. The vehicle owner can use the first portion to generate a signal that is received by the second portion and provides an indication to the parking attendant that the vehicle owner desires the attendant to retrieve the vehicle. Additionally, the system allows the vehicle owner to place the vehicle into a limited operation mode when the vehicle is left with the parking attendant.
