    摘要: An air introduction system (10) includes an active noise control system (22) having an environmentally protected microphone (24). A microphone support structure (26) defines a louvered cage (38) over a microphone reception cavity (40). The microphone (24) is mounted to a circuit board (42) which fits within the microphone reception cavity (40). A cover (42) fits into the cavity (40) to encase the microphone (24) therein. An open cell foam (60) surround the microphone (24) and a waterproof material (58) encases the foam (60). The waterproof material (58) includes an excess of material such that waterproof material provides for internal air expansion and contraction. By locating the foam (60) between the microphone (24) and the waterproof material (58) improved transmission of acoustic waves is provided which thereby maintains microphone sensitivity.

    摘要: A carrier for mounting to an internal combustion engine having an intake manifold port, a fuel injector and a cylinder head port extending from a cylinder head. The carrier includes a central portion having an internal passageway for providing fuel to the fuel injector. An attachment portion extends from the central portion which is affixed between the cylinder head and the intake manifold ports. The carrier further includes a sleeve extending from the central portion for receiving the fuel injector, which is sealed by the sleeve and an O-ring. The fuel injector, port seals, injector O-ring, wiring harness, connector and fuel rail are integrated into a single carrier to provide sealing, electrical connectivity, and fuel delivery functions.

    摘要: The invention relates to a pre-assembled constructional unit (1) of a fresh air system (2) for an internal combustion engine, especially of a motor vehicle. Said constructional unit comprises an electrical unit (3) having respective coils (5) for a plurality of cylinders of the internal combustion engine for actuating a fuel injection valve, said electrical unit having an electric wiring (6) for actuating the coils (5), a plurality of parallel insertion openings (10) that extend coaxially through the coils (5), and a plastic element (9) that is injection-molded on the coils (5) and the wiring (6). The constructional unit further comprises a fuel unit (4) having respective tubular connecting pieces (12) for every coil (5) for receiving a respective injection valve and a distributor housing (13) that contains a fuel distributing compartment (14) on which the parallel connecting pieces (12) are arranged and that has connecting openings (15) which interconnect the distributing compartment (14) to the interior of the connecting pieces (12) so as to communicate therewith, the fuel unit (4) and the electrical unit (3) being mounted to each other in such a manner that the connecting pieces (12) are coaxially inserted in the insertion openings (10).

    摘要: A vehicle fuel intake system (10) includes an intake manifold (14), an injector pack assembly (18) and an air cleaner assembly (16). The injector pack assembly (18) includes an encapsulated lead frame (36) that provides electrical communication to fuel injectors (26). The intake manifold defines a fuel rail (22) and a cavity (24). Fuel vapors permeating from the fuel rail (22) are trapped in the cavity (24) and channeled back into the air intake passages (20). The air cleaner assembly (16) includes a filter (28) for absorbing fuel vapor emissions from unburned fuel escaping a non-operating engine (12). An actuator (30) moves the filter (28) between an open and closed position. Once the engine begins operation, the actuator (30) opens the filter (28) to allow unrestricted airflow through the intake manifold (14).

    摘要: An HQ tube arrangement suitable for packaging within a vehicle may be designed by creating a mathematical model representing a tube arrangement having a first passageway and a second passageway fluidly connected to the first passageway at first and second junctions. The second passageway is divided by the junctions into first, second, and third passages. Lengths are associated with each of the first passageway and the first, second, and third passages. A filter parameter, based upon an average transmission loss for a particular frequency over a standard deviation, is analyzed as a function of the lengths. Lengths are chosen based upon analysis of the filter parameter. Portions of the outer walls of the first and second passageways may be secured to or common to one another so that lengths of the passageways run along side of each other to provide a more compact HQ tube arrangement.
