Abstract:
A sensor for use with a compound archery bow of the type including a body, a bowstring for being drawn by an archer, and a cam for connecting the bowstring to the body. The sensor includes a switch for being closed by the cam in response to the drawing of the bowstring; a light for emitting light when electrically energized and activated; and an electrical energy source for electrically energizing and activating the light when the switch is closed.
Abstract:
A vapor generator and heat exchanger, particularly suited for use in a substantially cylindrical cavity in a pressure vessel includes high and low temperature sections of the vapor generator positioned coaxially with the annular outer section terminating a distance from the end of the central or axial section to form at the one end an annulus arranged between the central or axial section and the pressure vessel wall. A plurality of reheater or heat exchanger sections and various inlet and outlet conduits are positioned in the annulus. A heating fluid is directed first transversely over the tubes of the reheater sections, then along the tubes of the central or axial high temperature section after passing over the outer annular low temperature section.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a nail having a head and an elongated shank with two deformed or cleated portions along the axis of the shank to increase the holding properties of the nail, especially when used to secure sheathing material to floor joists, roof trusses, or wall studs. The increased holding property is largely attributed to the second cleated portion having a diameter of about 2-25% larger than the first cleated portion of the shank.
Abstract:
A tape cassette is described having top and bottom cassette halves, tape reels and low friction washers between the tape reels and the cassette halves. Each tape reel is made of a plastic hub connected to two plastic flanges, each flange having intentionally curved circumferential edges. Each flange also has a raised, annular centering ring abutting and rotating only on the washers for rotatably supporting the tape reels relative to the tape cassette. These centering rings minimize friction, prevent skewing of the tape reels relative to each other and, along with the curved edges of the flanges, permit the tape to be wound without damage.
Abstract:
A waterfowl decoy motion system comprising a multiplicity of movable decoys and several idler pulley assemblies that contain a pulley disposed upon a vertical shaft, and a retaining assembly disposed over the pulley and connected to the vertical shaft. The retaining assembly has a minimum cross sectional dimension greater than the diameter of the pulley.

Abstract:
A waterfowl decoy motion system comprised of a multiplicity of movable decoys, a first elastic drive belt, means for connecting said first elastic drive belt to said movable decoys, a a primary drive pulley, a secondary drive pulley, an electric motor connected to said secondary drive pulley, and a multiplicity of idler puller assemblies.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for signal processing employing intraframe and interframe variable prediction transform coding. Images are represented by sequential frames of two-dimensional arrays of digital signals. The digital signals are transformed to form transform coefficients for each frame. Predicted transform coefficients are formed using sets of variable prediction factors. The predicted transform coefficients for each frame are compared with corresponding actual transform coefficients for the frame to form transform coefficient difference signals. The difference signals are processed to control their range of values. The processed difference signals are statistically coded such that the more frequently occurring values are represented by shorter code lengths and the less frequently occurring values are represented by longer code lengths. The coded signals are stored in a buffer memory for transmission.
Abstract:
Light transmission devices, such as lenses and windows for portable electronic devices, are produced using an injection/compression molding technique in which a light transmission device mold includes an integral runner in substantially the same plane and with substantially the same wall thickness as the light transmission device to be produced. The finished light transmission devices are mechanically separated from the molded product. Molding equipment and processes traditionally used to produce information discs can be leveraged to produce light transmission devices. Various processes can be performed to add metallization, coatings, and printing to the light transmission devices.
