摘要： An easy retrofitting of a night vision thermal imager to mount a televisionTV) camera thereon which allows the thermal imager outputs to be viewed remotely by a CRT display. The retrofitting provides a compact and utilitarian remote viewing capability without altering the imager itself. An unpluggable mirror unit, positioned at the output of the imager, provides a folded light path allowing the TV camera to be mounted in an inverted position over the viewer and operate as a remote observation station with the mirror unit attached, or be viewed directly with the mirror unit removed.

摘要： A fast acting electromagnetically operated shutter for protecting an imag system from damaging light, such as intense laser light, comprised of a plurality of vane type shutters driven by magnetically moveable linear racks transferring linear to rotary motion to the midportion of each vane to aid in overcoming inertia. The linear racks are comprised of an upper rack at one end of the shutters and a lower rack at the opposite end of the shutters wherein both upper and lower racks simultaneously move reciprocally together. The racks have gear teeth thereon that are meshed with alternate vanes from first the upper and then the lower racks to transfer opposing directional rotation to adjacent vanes. An electronic shutter control means responds to input damaging light intensity signals impinging light detecting sensor means. The electronic means has the capacity to lock onto light pulsed threats, track the frequency of the threats, and control the shutter in such a manner as to neutralize the threat or alternately to close the shutter as long as a continuous wave light threat is present.

摘要： A differential gear or motor driven shaft carries drive sprockets for a m chain having a load end and a tail end. The shaft also carries a pulley or gear for driving with a belt or chain a corresponding pulley or gear on an intermediate shaft. This intermediate shaft also carries a pulley or gear which drives a belt or chain, and this belt or chain in turn turns a pulley on an idler shaft. The idler shaft also has chain idler pulleys thereon and other pulleys or gears for driving with belts or chains corresponding pulleys or gears on chain storage shafts. These chain storage shaft carry chain storage sprockets. The main chain is reeved around the drive sprockets, with the load ends hanging down and the tail ends reeved around the idler pulleys and the chain storage sprockets. As the load ends of the main chain are hauled in or paid out, the tail ends are respectively fed into or out of chain storage bins beneath the chain storage sprockets.
