Abstract:
A g-force-sensitive label for detecting and indicating the application of a g-force is provided, the g-force sensitive label comprising an area for detecting and indicating an application of a g-force above a threshold value on the g-force sensitive label and an attachment area for attaching the g-force sensitive label on an object. At least one physical property of the area measurably changes its state upon applying a g-force above the threshold value, thereby altering a displayed pattern such that a machine-readable 1D or 2D or alphanumeric code is displayed.
Abstract:
An easy load packaging system, and a stand and a dunnage conversion machine therefor are disclosed. The stand includes a base and a pair of upright guide members mounted to the base and supporting at the upper ends thereof a dunnage conversion machine. The guide members define there between a channel for guiding sheet stock material to the dunnage conversion machine. The dunnage conversion machine is pivotable relative to the stand between an operating position and a servicing/loading position whereat access to internal components of the machine is simplified. A stack of sheet stock material is jacketed and/or baled for simplified loading into a packaging system or stand. An adhesive layer on the bottom or top of the stack enables the stack to be easily spliced to another stack.
Abstract:
An electronic inspection report system includes a central report generator and a data collection device. The central report generator is adapted to produce multiple types of inspection report template. The central report generator is adapted to select a type of inspection report template to provide to a data collection device based upon various criteria. The central report generator is adapted to receive electronic information from various databases and format the information such that the information can be used in inspection reports. While inspecting an item, an inspector uses a data collection device to access an inspection report template and fill in fields of the inspection report template. The data collection device can be configured to check the consistency of information carried in fields of the inspection report and signal the inspector when some of the information is inconsistent. The central report generator can include a repository of completed inspection reports. The central report generator can be configured to mine the repository of completed inspection reports and determine correlations between fields of the completed inspection reports. Software in the data collection device can updated such that the data collection device can perform consistency checks between fields that the central report generator has determined have a correlation.
Abstract:
A dunnage conversion machine is characterized by a forming assembly which causes lateral edge portions of a substantially continuous sheet stock material to crumple and to fold upon themselves, leaving an unfolded central portion between the laterally spaced apart folded portions. The layers of sheet stock material in the folded portions are fixed by a feeding/fixing assembly having two pairs of laterally spaced feed assemblies to form a dunnage product which does not come apart as it is manipulated. A severing assembly severs discrete dunnage products from the continuous strip of dunnage.
Abstract:
A conversion machine and related method for making a dunnage product by converting a sheet-like stock material of at least one ply into a dunnage product is characterized by a manual reversing mechanism that is useful, for example, for clearing paper jams. The conversion machine includes a housing through which the stock material passes along a path, and an assembly that advances the stock material from a source thereof along the path, crumples the stock material, and maintains the shape of the crumpled stock material to produce a strip of dunnage. This assembly includes at least one rotatable member rotatable in a first direction for engaging and advancing the stock material, a feed motor for driving a driven rotatable member in the first direction, and a crank connected to the rotatable member for enabling rotation of the driven rotatable member in a second direction opposite the first direction.
Abstract:
A cushioning conversion machine and related methodology characterized by one or more features including, inter alia, a feeding/connecting assembly which enables an operator to easily vary a characteristic, for example the density, of the cushioning product; a feeding/connecting assembly wherein input and/or output wheels or rollers thereof are made at least in part of an elastomeric or other friction enhancing material, which reduces the cost and complexity of the input and output rollers; a manual reversing mechanism that is useful, for example, for clearing paper jams; a modular arrangement of a forming assembly and feeding/connecting assembly in separate units that may be positioned remotely from one another, as may be desired for more efficient utilization of floor space; a turner bar which enables alternative positioning a stock supply roll; and a volume expanding arrangement cooperative with the feeding/connecting assembly for reducing the density of the cushioning product and increasing product yield.
Abstract:
A pair of form keys and a method for forming reverse drafts in foam parts are disclosed. A male form key is reciprocally mounted in a first mold half in a retracted position. A female form key is rotatably mounted in a second mold half in a neutral position. The first mold half includes a first drive pin that when engaged, moves the male form key into engagement with a foam sheet to form an undercut as the first and second mold halves are closed. The first mold half also includes a second drive pin that engages the female form key as the first and second mold halves close rotating the female form key into engagement with the foam sheet and the male form key. After closure of the mold and the product is formed, the mold is opened. As this occurs, the drive pins are disengaged and the male form key retracts and the female form key rotates to their neutral positions. The formed product may then be stripped from the mold while maintaining the reverse draft or undercut.
Abstract:
A mobile broiler rotisserie apparatus including a trailer frame having road engaging wheels thereon and a hitch for connection to a vehicle. The trailer frame has an open top chamber having sidewalls and a bottom wall mounted thereon with a pair of spaced support brackets being secured to opposed walls of the chamber adjacent the upper edges thereof. Rotatable food supporting devices are mounted on the support brackets in spaced relation from the bottom wall and vertically spaced above a controllable heat generator positioned in the spacing between the rotatable food supporting devices and the bottom wall for cooking foods supported on the rotatable food supporting devices. A hood is pivotally secured to one of the upper edges of the open top chamber and is movable between open and closed positions relative to the open top of the chamber. An elongated trough is mounted in the chamber in vertical alignment with the rotatable food supporting device and is inclined from one end of the chamber downwardly toward and out through an opening in the wall of the chamber at the opposite end thereof. A drive mechanism is operatively connected to the rotatable food supporting device and has a rotatable output characteristic such that the juice from food mounted on the rotatable food supporting device will fall therefrom during cooking and into the trough. The heat from the heat generator will maintain the collected juice in the trough in a liquid form so that it will flow down the incline of the trough and out through the opening for collection.
Abstract:
A device designed to hang free weight dumbbells from the end of an elongated cylindrical lifting bar. The device is comprised of a cylindrical hollow head which is capable of sliding and hanging on to a barbell, while the openly hollow C-shaped support inferior to the neck of the device is free to safely support a free weight dumbbell during resistance training.
