摘要: The invention relates to a zero heat flux temperature sensing device (100) for sensing a core body temperature of an object (113). The zero heat flux temperature sensing device (100) comprises a layer (107), a first temperature gradient sensor (105), a first heat flux modulator (103) and a heat flux modulator controller (102). The layer (107) has an opposing first side (112) and second side (108). In use the first side (112) is nearest to the object (113). The layer (107) is for obtaining a first temperature difference over the layer (107) in response to a first heat flux in a first direction from the first side (112) to the second side (108). The first temperature gradient sensor (105) senses at the first side (112) of the layer (107) a second temperature difference in a second direction. The second direction extends from a first border of the first side (112) towards a second border of the first side (112). The first heat flux modulator (103) is arranged at the first side (112) of the layer (107) and is constructed to change a second heat flux in a second direction at the first side (112) of the layer (107) in order to influence the second temperature difference. The heat flux modulator controller (102) controls the first heat flux modulator (103) on basis of the sensed second temperature difference in order to decrease an absolute value of the second temperature difference. The effect of the measures according to the invention is that the zero heat flux temperature sensing device (100) senses the core body temperature of the object (113) more accurately.

摘要: This invention relates to a temperature sensor for body temperature measurements. The temperature sensor is made of several layers, where a first layer has a central heater embedded therein, a second layer which is attached to the first layer has at least one first thermistor embedded therein for measuring a first temperature value, a third layer has at one ore second thermistor embedded therein separated from the first thermistor for measuring at least one second temperature value, but this third layer is adapted to be in contact to the skin of the surface of the body for conducting the heat escaping from the body through the layers. The difference between the first and the second temperature values indicates the heat flux from the body. The heat emitted from central heater is tuned oppositely to the heat flux until a zero heat flux is reached, where the temperature at the at least one second thermistor at zero heat flux indicates the body temperature. These layers are fabric layers.

摘要: The present invention is related to a contact detection device (100) for detecting a contact between the contact detection device (100) and an object (800), a method (400), a diagnostic device and further to a computer program. The invention seeks to improve the reliability of contact sensors. The contact detection device (100) comprises a heater (110) for providing a modulated heat flow (112). A modulated heat signal (122) is generated in dependence of the modulated heat flow (112). A physical contact with an object (800) causes a change in the modulated heat flow (112) that effects the modulated heat signal (122). As the heat flow is modulated, a change in the modulated heat signal (122) is quasi assured. A contact determination unit (130) of the contact detection device (100) derives a contact indication signal (132) indicating at least either the presence or the absence of the physical contact in from the modulated heat (122), preferentially by means of a demodulator (134).

摘要: When measuring core body temperature in a patient, a curved sensor (10) is provide that has a predefined radius of curvature to fit comfortably and closely to a patient's forehead. The sensor (10) has at least one releasable securing strip (e.g., Velcro™) that couples the sensor (10) to a headband (14), as well as an adhesive strip (16) that is positioned along one edge of an interior surface of the sensor (10) and couples the sensor (10) to the patient's skin. The adhesive strip acts as a hinge that facilitates inspection of the skin beneath the sensor without complete removal of the sensor, and the headband and curvature of the sensor provide a snug fit of the interior surface of the sensor against the patient's skin. Additionally, the sensor may be a zero heat flux sensor (34) with a heater (32) placed on one side thereof and a thermister (36) placed on an opposite side thereof, between the heat flux sensor (34) and a patient's skin. The heater is adjusted until heat flux through the heat flux sensor is zero, at which point the patient's skin surface temperature (as detected by the thermistor) is recorded as a core body temperature. Moreover, the thermister (34, 72) may be quickly calibrated by linearizing a temperature vs. resistance curve therefore, and shifting the linearized curve to a predetermined 15 reference curve.

摘要: A system and method for predicting an onset of an exacerbation in a patient is provided. The method includes monitoring core body temperature of the patient; monitoring breath temperature of the patient; calculating a relationship, or a change in relationship, between the core body temperature and the breath temperature of the patient; and detecting the onset of the exacerbation, when the calculated relationship, or a change in relationship, satisfies a predetermined criteria.
