A tire having at least one reinforcement ply formed of reinforcement elements embedded in vulcanized rubber, characterized in that the reinforcement elements for said ply are individually coated in a rubber mix (B, B1), referred to as “coating mix”, having a given composition and physical properties, the reinforcement elements arranged parallel to each other being covered on one face by a first rubber layer (A, A1), referred to as “first calendering layer”, of constant composition and properties, whereas the elements are covered on the opposite face by a second rubber calendering layer (C, D), of composition and properties which are variable according to the meridian position on the ply within the tire.

A radial tire (10) having at least one belt enforcement (13) and one carc reinforcement (14) with at least one ply (20) of rubberized fabric (24) having radial threads (25) essentially parallel to the radial direction (xx'), the radial ply having at least one overlapping splice (21) formed by the overlapping of two edges (22, 23) of the said fabric (24) and being limited circumferentially by two borders (28,29), characterized in that the said splice (21), in each of the said edges (22, 23), has at least one cut (26, 27) located underneath the belt reinforcement (13) and splitting several radial threads (25). The tire according to the invention, compared with classical radial tires of the prior art, presents an external sidewall appearance that is clearly improved.
Abstract:
A tire which, during use is subjected to one or more severe stresses lead to an appreciable reduction of its potential lifetime of use under nominal conditions. In order to be able to determine whether a tire has undergone such severe conditions, the tire is provided with a monitoring device, containing at least one means sensitive to a given stress and capable of memorizing a piece of information, according to the stress to which the component has been subjected for at least a given time or a given number of cycles.

In a tire having an aspect ratio H/S of less than 0.8 the radial carcass nforcement (1) is wound in each bead (B) around an anchoring bead ring (2) going from the outside to the inside to form a turn-up (10), the turn-up being located on the inside of an angle .alpha., open axially towards the inside and radially towards the outside of at most 45.degree. and defined by two straight lines OD.sub.1 and OD.sub.2 tangent to the circle circumscribed around the anchoring bead ring (2), the straight line closest to the axis of rotation of the tire being parallel to the axis.
Abstract:
An integral rim (J') having frustoconical seats (2') inclined 15.degree..+-.1.degree., the axial widths (P') of which are greatly decreased as compared with the axial widths (P) of the known frustoconical seats (2), and having a mounting groove (3') of reduced height (H') so as to permit an increase in the space available for the braking means. The assembly of a rim (J') as described above and of a tire (T) having beads the tips of which have been truncated permits better resistance of said beads to fatigue while permitting easy mounting. The invention is employed for tires and rims intended for heavy vehicles.

A tire has a radial carcass reinforcement which is anchored in each bead to a bead ring, going from the outside to the inside, forming a turn-up which is substantially parallel to the generatrix of the rim seat J on which the bead is mounted. Each turn-up is reinforced by at least one additional reinforcing ply of cords oriented at an angle between 0.degree. and 20.degree. with respect to the circumferential direction.

A process for the manufacture of a tire which consists of producing a toral carcass reinforcement blank (1) by the helical winding of a cord or cable around a non-deformable, annular building core N, followed by at least one circumferential cut on the radially inner surface of the core N and a cut on the radially outer surface, the two halves of the blank being then separated axially to permit the removal of the core and subsequently brought together and connected for the finishing of the blank of the tire.
Abstract:
The invention concerns the structures and production of tubeless tire beads the seal of which on the rim and the resistance to degradation of which are increased. The beads, at least the surfaces of which in contact with the rim are formed of protectors (7), are covered, in accordance with the invention, with an air impermeable rubber mix (8) at least in part over the portion of the protector in contact with the rim. Extension of the covering (8) over the surface of the protector which is in contact with the inflation air is desirable.
