Abstract:
A fungicidal compound of the formula: ##STR1## wherein A is C.sub.5-10 cycloalkyl, R is hydrogen, C.sub.1-6 alkyl, phenyl optionally substituted by one or more groups selected from C.sub.1-4 alkyl, nitro, hydroxy, carboxy, sulfo, sulfonylamino, halogen, C.sub.1-4 alkoxy, C.sub.1-4 acyloxy, C.sub.2-5 alkoxycarbonyl, C.sub.1-4 acyl, and N-(C.sub.2-5 alkoxycarbonyl)-sulfonylamino, or phenyl-(C.sub.1-4 alkyl) or a salt thereof.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a new and improved method for the preparation of N-phosphonomethyl-glycine, a potent pre-emergence herbicide. According to the invention glycine, formaldehyde and a dialkyl phosphite are condensed in an aqueous alkaline medium to form a N-phosphonomethyl-glycine dialkyl ester, and the diester is hydrolyzed with a mineral acid.
Abstract:
Compounds of the formulae ##STR1## are disclosed wherein R is hydrogen, halogen, phenyl, phenyl-C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alkylthio, C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkylthio, C.sub.5 to C.sub.7 cycloalkylthio, phenylthio or phenylsulfonyl;R.sub.1 is amino, C.sub.5 to C.sub.7 cycloalkylamino, C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkylamino, C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 -alkoxy-substituted-phenyl-(C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 -alkylamino), phenylamino, naphthylamino, furfurylamino, phenyl-(C.sub.1 to C.sub.4)-alkylamino, phenylamino-substituted by C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alkoxy, halogen or C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alkyl or phenylsulfonyl.R.sub.2 is hydrogen; andR.sub.3 is C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkyl, alkoxy or phenyl. The compounds have herbicidal properties.
