Abstract:
A method for treating textile articles including the steps of: (a) providing a laundry care composition comprising a leuco composition; (b) adding the laundry care composition to a liquid medium; (c) placing the textile articles in contact with the liquid medium; (d) depositing at least some portion of the leuco composition onto the textile articles; (e) optionally, rinsing the textile; and (f) drying the textile articles, wherein the leuco composition comprises a leuco colorant with a Photoresistance Index of less than or equal to 30.
Abstract:
This application describes laundry care compositions that contain leuco colorants and their use in the laundering of textile articles. These types of colorants are provided in a stable, substantially colorless state and then may be transformed to an intense colored state upon exposure to certain physical or chemical changes such as, for example, exposure to oxygen, ion addition, exposure to light, and the like. The laundry care compositions containing the leuco colorants are designed to enhance the apparent or visually perceived whiteness of, or to impart a desired hue to, textile articles washed or otherwise treated with the laundry care composition.

Abstract:
Provided herein is a two-component photosensitizer, which demonstrated robust and selective killing effects for transfected HEK cells and affibody targeted A431 cancer cells when exposed to near infrared light excitation. Free MG2I is a pure and stable fluorogen; it is easy to synthesize and modify, and has no toxicity to cells. Unlike conventional photosensitizers, the dye and FAP itself has no photosensitizing effect until they are bound. Also unlike other activation methods, the activation step is achieved by adding the fluorogen, not the presence of the targeted molecule, requiring an ‘active’ activation instead of a ‘passive’ activation. This method offers the ability to locally switch-on and selective generation of singlet oxygen at the target site and can be used for a wide variety of molecular targets.

Abstract:
A method of obtaining a laundry care composition, the method comprising the steps of (a) reacting a compound with a polymer to form a leuco polymer and (b) mixing the leuco polymer with at least one laundry care ingredient. The compound includes at least one leuco moiety and at least one electrophilic group. The polymer is comprised of co-monomers of an aryl dicarboxylate, an oxyalkyleneoxy and an oxypolyalkyleneoxy and the polymer comprises at least one moiety selected from the group consisting of hydroxy, sulfhydryl, primary amine and secondary amine.
Abstract:
The present application describes a reagent system for detecting presence of aldehyde in a sample that includes (i) Component A, which includes bisulfite, pararosalinine, and hydrochloric acid; and (ii) Component B, which includes a solution of hydroxide, wherein the Component A has a pH of from about 1.4 to 1.6.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to charge transport compositions. The invention further relates to electronic devices in which there is at least one active layer comprising such charge transport compositions.
Abstract:
A process for preparing di- or triarylmethane dyes by oxidation of di- or triarylmethanes in the presence of a diluent and of an oxygen transfer catalyst that contains a complexed heavy metal ion comprises using as oxidizing agent hydrogen peroxide, a hydrogen peroxide donor compound, an organic hydroperoxide or a percarboxylic acid and as the oxygen transfer catalyst a member of the class of the porphyrins, tetraaza[14]annulenes, phthalocyanines or tetraazacyclotetradecanes.
Abstract:
The present invention provides novel dyes for staining proteins, particularly those in electrophoretic gels. The dyes of the invention are derivatives of Coomassie.RTM. dyes. The invention also provides quantitative and qualitative methods for detecting proteins by staining the proteins with a dye of the invention.
