摘要: Systems and methods can be implemented on a wireless device and base stations to facilitate uplink synchronization. The wireless device can transmit a random access preamble to at least one base station serving the wireless device to initiate a random access procedure. The wireless device can identify a signal propagation time associated with the position of the wireless device and the position of the at least one base station serving the wireless device. The wireless device can also identify a positive time advance based on the identified signal propagation time for transmitting the random access preamble. Further, the wireless device can transmit the random access preamble to the at least one base station based on the identified time advance for random access.

摘要: An apparatus has a first communication module and a second communication module. The first communication module is compatible with a first wireless communication technology, and the second communication module is compatible with a second wireless communication technology that differs from the first wireless communication technology. Transmissions by the second communication module may contribute to interference at the first communication module. The first communication module refrains from advertising support for any data rate that is not expected to be sufficiently resilient in the face of interference caused by transmissions from the second communication module.

摘要: An electronic device capable of receiving and sending calls is configured with at least two modes. When a call is received by a device in a normal mode, the device displays information and presents selectable options for handling the received call. When the device is in a restricted or meeting mode, the device provides authorized callers with the option of prompting the called party to immediately answer the call or to record a message for later retrieval or take other appropriate action. Settings associated with the normal mode and settings associated with the meeting mode are adjustable.

摘要: Described herein are methods and devices for use in telecommunication cell selection and re-selection for which there may be multiple different sizes of transmission bandwidth configurations in a telecommunications operating band. For each of a plurality of channel hypotheses, in which each channel hypothesis has a hypothetical occupied portion and a hypothetical guard band portion, a respective metric is calculated based on a power value for the hypothetical occupied portion and a power value for the hypothetical guard band portion. Based on the metrics determined for the plurality of channel hypotheses, at least one channel hypothesis is selected for further processing for cell selection or re-selection. The metric is calculated by determining a difference between the power value for the hypothetical occupied portion and the power value for the hypothetical guard band portion.

摘要: According to some embodiments, a mobile device may calculate adjustments of a timing advance based on a determined relative downlink timing change. Adjustments of the timing advance may be made toward a target timing advance in accordance with an adjustment parameter. The adjustment parameter may be adapted based on a received timing advance command and at least one of: a calculated adjustment of the timing advance; and a difference between the target timing advance and the timing advance. In another aspect, self-adjustment of a timing advance performed by a mobile device may be configured based on a property of a communication channel between the mobile device and a base station. In another aspect, self-adjustment of a timing advance performed by a mobile device may be configured based on timing advance commands received from a base station.

摘要: There are disclosed systems and methods that dynamically vary the word length of data being transmitted through a digital interface. In one embodiment, the method comprises: (i) obtaining at least one parameter indicative of a quality of a signal; (ii) if the at least one parameter indicates that the quality of the signal is above a threshold, then transmitting the data as a number of digital words at a first predetermined word length; (ii) if the at least one parameter indicates that the quality of the signal is below the threshold, then transmitting the data as a number of digital words at a second predetermined word length. The second predetermined word length is different from the first predetermined word length.
