    摘要: A method is provided for searching for a pairing PMI including estimating a MIMO wireless propagation channel from an access point transmitter to a receiver at a UE; quantizing the estimated channel with a codebook consisting of a plurality of codewords, the result being an actual SU-MIMO PMI currently applicable to the UE; estimating the channel quality corresponding to the actual SU-MIMO PMI, resulting in at least one CQI for the UE; constructing a plurality of subsets from a codebook of codewords, wherein each subset comprises potential MU-MIMO PMIs that represent channels that have reduced interference with a channel represented by one of the potential SU-MIMO PMIs; associating each potential SU-MIMO PMI with the subset that comprises the potential MU-MIMO PMIs that represent channels that have reduced interference with the channel represented by that potential SU-MIMO PMI; searching for an appropriate pairing PMI and the associated CQI for the UE.

The method includes signaling a set of SRS subframes in which an SRS can be transmitted, wherein a UE not capable of aperiodic SRS transmission can be instructed to transmit periodic SRS in any of the SRS subframes. The method further includes signaling which of the SRS subframes are to be used for periodic SRS transmissions and which are to be used for aperiodic SRS transmissions, wherein a periodic SRS transmission is an SRS transmission that is transmitted by a UE in a first subframe, the first subframe being determined at least by the subframe in which the UE transmitted a previous SRS and an SRS periodicity, and wherein an aperiodic SRS transmission is an SRS transmission that is transmitted by a UE in a second subframe, the second subframe being determined at least by a transmission on a physical control channel to the UE.

    摘要: Information transmission in a multiple-input multiple-output (“MIMO”) wireless communication system is provided. In one embodiment, a method for transmitting information in a MIMO wireless communication system, comprising updating channel quality information (“CQI”) values of a plurality of wireless devices, wherein updating said CQI values consider the effects of interference from transmissions to those wireless devices associated with a pre-assigned companion codeword set; pairing said plurality of wireless devices using at least said CQI values, a precoding matrix index (“PMI”) value and said pre-assigned companion codeword set, wherein said pre-assigned companion codeword set, pre-assigned companion codewords associated with said pre-assigned companion codeword set and said PMI value are updated for each of said plurality of wireless devices; precoding the information for each of said plurality of wireless devices using said PMI value; and transmitting said precoded information to each of said plurality of wireless devices.

    摘要: A method is provided for applying HOM to a PDCCH to transmit control information from an access node to a UE. The method comprises: selecting a DCI format for a HOM PDCCH; determining a DCI block of the HOM PDCCH according to the selected DCI format; generating a sequence of coded bits to be transmitted from the DCI block; multiplexing the sequence of coded bits of the HOM PDCCH with coded bits of other PDCCHs to form a sequence of multiplexed bits; scrambling the sequence of multiplexed bits to form a sequence of scrambled bits; modulating the scrambled bits to form a sequence of modulation symbols; and transmitting the sequence of modulation symbols, where a PDCCH is transmitted on an aggregation of one or more CCEs.

    摘要: Methods and apparatus are provided to enable aperiodic sounding reference signaling including frequency hopping through the use of additional RRC configuration. The methods can require little or no additional L1 overhead to support narrowband frequency hopping for aperiodic sounding transmissions. In some embodiments, an approach is provided for extending an LTE periodic sounding reference signal methodology to include aperiodic sounding. One benefit of the proposed technique is that it enables each UE to perform aperiodic channel sounding in sounding subframes, using a frequency-hopping pattern, in which the sounding bandwidth of the UE can be narrowed appropriately to match its link capability. Additional benefits of the new approach include better resource utilization, lower signaling overhead, faster channel information update rates, and lower blocking probabilities.
