摘要： A module assembly for an injection system that may co-deliver at least two medicaments is disclosed where a primary delivery device containing a primary medicament accepts a medicated module containing a single dose of a secondary medicament and where both medicaments are delivered through a hollow needle. The module assembly is initially in a locked state until attached to a drug delivery device where interaction of the cartridge holder with a locking strut changes the module to a triggering state. The module assembly when configured as a medicated module does not require the user to manually engage a reservoir containing the secondary medicament. Instead, a biasing member automatically activates the reservoir when the needle guard is retracted when the module is in the triggering state. The needle guard prevents accidental needle sticks before and after an injection, and locks after dose delivery.

摘要： A medicated module for an injection system to co-deliver at least two medicaments is disclosed where a primary delivery device containing a primary medicament accepts a medicated module containing a single dose of a secondary medicament and where both medicaments are delivered through a hollow needle. The medicated module is user selectable so that it will deliver a priming dose of a primary medicament or both the primary and secondary medicaments. The module also contains a needle guard that locks after dose delivery. The needle guard prevents accidental needle sticks before and after an injection. A locking collar rotates during use as an inner protrusion follows three paths of a track located on the outer surface of a body housing. When the inner facing protrusion is in the third path, it encounters a hard stop and a rotational bias that locks the guard from further refraction and thus covers the sharp distal end of the needle.

The medicated module (100) includes a housing (104) having a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end has a connector (110) configured for attachment to a drug delivery device (102). The distal end contains a shuttle (112). A first needle (114) is fixed in the housing (104) and a second needle (116) is fixed in the shuttle (112). The medicated module (100) also includes a reservoir (118) in the housing (104) comprising a medicament (12). Further, the medicated module (100) includes a guard assembly (122) positioned in the housing (104) and configured to move in an axial direction during application to an injection site. Preferably, the medicated module (100) is locked out after at least two injections of the medicament (105) contained in the drug delivery device (102).
