摘要: A method, system and computer program product for providing lane guidance to a driver of a vehicle. Based on the current location of the vehicle, the navigation system determines a route to travel from the current location of the vehicle to a destination provided by the driver. The navigation system obtains one or more of the following types of information which is used to determine whether the navigation system should recommend a lane change: past driving patterns of the driver, driver's lane preferences, past driving history of other drivers on the route, external conditions (e.g., weather) and features of the route. The recommendation may be presented to the driver via an audio instruction and/or on a display. In this manner, the navigation system instructs the driver as to which lane in a multi-lane road the user should drive on taking into consideration the user's driving habits and preferences.

摘要: Embodiments of the present invention provide a system, method, and program product for web browsing synchronization between computers. In a real time collaboration session including a plurality of computers in which a URL link is entered into the real time collaboration session, a first computer of the plurality of computers receives a request to access a webpage via the URL link. The webpage is displayed a webpage browsing session on the first computer. The first computer receives information that one or more of the plurality of computers exclusive of the first computer requests to access the webpage. Each of the plurality of computers exclusive of the first computer synchronize a webpage in a webpage browsing session to the position of the webpage in the webpage browsing session of the first computer.

摘要: A method includes associating a user-defined shortcut command with at least two different user-drafted status responses. In response to a user receiving a first instant message from a first sender at an inopportune time and the user then inputting the user-defined shortcut command, the method includes automatically transmitting a first user-draft status response to the first sender of the first instant message that was received at the inopportune time. In response to the user receiving a second message from a second sender at the inopportune time and the user then inputting the user-defined shortcut command, the method includes automatically transmitting a second user-draft status response to the second sender of the instant message that was received at the inopportune time. A relationship between the first sender and the user is different than a relationship between the second sender and the user.

摘要: A method for intelligently handling abbreviations in text-based electronic communications can begin with the compilation of abbreviation usage history data by an intelligent abbreviation handler component of a text-based electronic communications system. The abbreviation usage history data can indicate a presentation preference for abbreviation elements based upon past usage by the user. An abbreviation element can be an abbreviation, an acronym, or an initialism. The abbreviation element can be presented in a condensed format or an expanded format. Abbreviation elements can be identified in a received text-based electronic communication. The presentation preference of each identified abbreviation element can be intelligently determined for each recipient from the abbreviation usage history data. An abbreviation-adjusted text-based electronic communication can be created for each recipient using the received text-based electronic communication and the determined presentation preference. The abbreviation-adjusted text-based electronic communication can be conveyed to the recipient.

摘要: A system and method of reclaiming lost Internet customers may involve detecting an outage condition associated with a host of an electronic commerce (e-commerce) web site. Customer data can be extracted from packets destined for the host, wherein the packets could be associated with transactions between customers and the web site. The extracted customer data may be stored and, upon detecting a resolution of the outage condition, a customer database can be searched based on the extracted customer data in order to identify customer contact information. A customer reclamation message may then be sent to the customer, wherein the message can incentivize the customer to return to the web site and request completion of the transaction.

摘要: Communicating an Instant Messaging (IM) user's availability status message is managed by a user-defined shortcut command, which is used to generate a user-drafted status response. When the user receives an instant message at an inopportune time, the user inputs the user-defined shortcut command, which results in the user-drafted status response being automatically transmitted to a sender of the instant message that was received at the inopportune time.

摘要: An apparatus and method employs dual checkpoint data sets for communicating system status. A journal of changed data is implemented to reduce I/O to a subsystem's shared data area on a non-volatile shared storage device. The journal provides for an increase in the amount of time that a processor may have access to the shared data area. Also, two versions of the data area are implemented in order to insure the integrity of the continuously updated data area. The two versions flip-flop depending upon which one has the most recent updates. That is, the version that has the most recent updates becomes the to-be-read-from data area and is read by the processor that currently has access to the shared data area during this series of I/O operations. The other version becomes the to-be-written-to data area and is written to by the processor that currently has access to the data area in order to update the to-be-written-to version to the current level. The to-be-written-to version then becomes the to-be-read-from version during the next series of I/O operations.

摘要: A method, system and computer program product for scheduling a meeting with the best candidate(s). The user requests to schedule a meeting during a selected period of time. The system receives a set of rules concerning the scheduling of the meeting. Additionally, the system searches a past communication history (a past communication pattern) between the user and the individual(s) listed in a list of possible candidates. Furthermore, the system searches the calendar application for the individual(s) listed in the list to obtain scheduling information. The past communication history, calendar information and user's rules are analyzed with respect to the individual(s) listed in the list. Based on this analysis, a person deemed to be the best candidate is selected to receive a meeting invitation from the user to attend the meeting requested by the user during the selected period of time.
