Abstract:
Various systems and methods are provided for folded patch antennas. In one embodiment, among others, a folded patch antenna includes a patch disposed on an outer side of a flexible substrate and a ground plane disposed on an inner side of the flexible substrate opposite the patch. The flexible substrate is folded to form an enclosed cavity defined by the inner side of the flexible substrate. The ground plane may provide electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding of the cavity. In another embodiment, among others, a folded patch antenna platform includes a flexible substrate, a folded patch antenna, and a transceiver mounted on the flexible substrate. The folded patch antenna includes a patch communicatively coupled to the transceiver and a ground plane, which are disposed on opposite sides of the flexible substrate.
Abstract:
A user terminal apparatus and a user interface providing method are provided. The user terminal apparatus providing a control mode to control an apparatus to be controlled and an application mode to operate applications includes a display unit which displays a control mode providing screen and an application mode providing screen, a user interface unit which receives an input of a user's order to select one of the control mode and the application mode, a communication interface unit which communicates with the apparatus to be controlled, and a controller which controls, if the control mode is selected, to display a control screen corresponding to the state of the apparatus to be controlled based on state information of the apparatus to be controlled which is received through the communication interface unit.
Abstract:
Various methods and systems are provided for fabrication of nanoporous membranes. In one embodiment, among others, a system includes electrode pairs including substantially parallel electrodes, a controllable power supply to control the electrical potential of each of the electrode pairs, and a syringe to eject an electrically charged solution from a needle to form a nanofiber. The orientation of the nanofiber in a nanofiber layer is determined by the electrical potentials of the electrode pairs. In another embodiment, a method includes providing a nanoporous membrane including nanofiber layers between a transferor and a mainmold of a stamp-through-mold (STM) where adjacent nanofiber layers are approximately aligned in different directions. A patterned membrane is sheared from the nanoporous membrane using the transferor and the mainmold of the STM and transferred to a substrate.
Abstract:
Provided are a menu navigation method using a user interface (UI), an apparatus and UI having a menu navigation function, and a computer readable recording medium having recorded thereon a program for executing the menu navigation method. The menu navigation method includes: displaying a first screen on which at least one menu item is arranged based on an arc type line; and when a menu item is selected based on the first screen, displaying the selected menu item on an inner side of the arc type line and displaying a second screen on which at least one menu item is arranged on an outer side of the arc type line, wherein the at least one menu item of the second screen is at least one lower layer menu item of the selected menu item.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for detecting a format of closed caption data contained in a broadcast signal automatically and displaying the caption data are provided. The method includes: (a) receiving information including closed caption data extracted from the broadcast signal, (b) detecting information on the format of the closed caption data from the received information including the closed caption data and determining the format of the closed caption data, and (c) decoding the closed caption data according to the determined format of the closed caption data and displaying the caption data to a user.
Abstract:
A method for inducing hepatic fibrosis by repeated administration of allylalcohol into animals and, more particularly, a method including administrating a specific dose, at an administration frequency and period to induce hepatic fibrosis.

Abstract:
A control device is provided. The control device includes a first communication interface unit which transmits a control command in a first communication mode which uses a bi-directional wireless communication, a second communication interface unit which transmits a control command in a second communication mode which uses a unidirectional wireless communication, a state determination unit which determines a communication mode of the control device, a user interface unit which displays a user interface window which corresponds to a determined communication mode and receives the control command with respect to a broadcast receiver and a control unit which transmits the received control command according to the determined communication mode.
Abstract:
A display apparatus and a touch sensing method are provided. The display apparatus includes a touch screen which senses a touch by a user using a plurality of sensing types; and a controller which selects a sensing type based on an application. Therefore, a user's touch is sensed using an optimal sensing type for each application. In doing so, malfunction or inconvenience in manipulating the touch screen can be reduced.
