The user terminal apparatus providing a control mode to control an apparatus to be controlled and an application mode to operate applications includes a display unit which displays a control mode providing screen and an application mode providing screen, a user interface unit which receives an input of a user's order to select one of the control mode and the application mode, a communication interface unit which communicates with the apparatus to be controlled, and a controller which controls, if the control mode is selected, to display a control screen corresponding to the state of the apparatus to be controlled based on state information of the apparatus to be controlled which is received through the communication interface unit.

The control device includes a user interface unit in which information of a broadcast receiver controlled through unidirectional wireless communication is entered, a searching unit which searches an infrared (IR) code set corresponding the broadcast receiver based on the entered information, a managing unit which registers the broadcast receiver as a controllable broadcast receiver within a home network based on the searched IR code set, and a first communication interface unit which, if a control signal for the registered broadcast receiver is received, transmits an IR code corresponding to the control signal from the IR code set corresponding to the registered broadcast receiver to the registered broadcasting receiver.

The display apparatus classifies menu items of a service menu or an OSD menu according to the frequency of use of the menu items, generates icons corresponding to the classified menu items, and displays the icons on a screen using a user interface. Accordingly, the user can display a user interface on the screen in a preferable manner, and easily find and utilize a desired menu item.
