摘要： A support for the framework which supplies the base for a roadway for a bridge or the like, and a method of installing, in which the support includes a tie beam extending transversely beneath the framework and includes connectors to connect the beam and framework together. A column is pivotally connected to the beam at each end so the beam can be rotated about the longitudinal axis thereof whereby the beam can support an inclined roadway while the columns extend vertically downwardly to the ground. The point of connection of the beam to each column is adjustable along the columns and will also permit the columns and beam to tilt relatively in the common plane thereof. Each column has a base member on the bottom which may be tiltable on the respective column. The pivotal connection of the columns to each end of the beam permit the practice of a method of installing in which the beam and columns are moved longitudinally beneath the framework with the columns generally horizontal to the plane of use of the beam whereupon the colunmns are pivoted downwardly on the ends of the beam to place the lower ends of the columns on the ground and the beam is then adjusted upwardly on the columns into load bearing engagement with the underneath side of the framework. Installation carriages moveable along the top of the framework support the tie beams and columns during installation.

摘要： A four-high mill structure, in which each of two oppositely located roller stands is provided with a window having arranged therein a lower mounting member, an upper mounting member, each carrying a supporting roller, and in which each window has a first and second mounting means respectively supporting a first and second working roller means. The first and second mounting means with the working roller means supported thereby are movable from an elevated position representing the working position of the working roller means to a lowered position representing the withdrawal or exchange position for the working roller means. The arrangement is such that in the working position of the working roller means the mounting means therefor are automatically vertically interlocked and in their lowered position are automatically vertically disengaged, but are interlocked in horizontal position and can, together with the working roller means supported thereby, be moved in horizontal direction on rails which are stationarily arranged on the frame structure.

摘要： Ores containing nickel and copper oxides are initially reduced and then leached with aqueous ferric chloride. The resulting solution is oxidized to precipitate ferric hydroxide therefrom and is thereafter separated into its components from which cobalt and nickel are recovered by electrolysis. Alternatively, the resulting solution is oxidized in the presence of flaking agents which assist the nickel, copper and cobalt in adhering to precipitated ferric hydroxide, from which they are leached with an ammonium carbonate solution and separated by ion exchange or solvent extraction.

摘要： Two sets of parallel guide bars define with a displaceable lower platform a cylindrically annular spaced which can be tilted from a vertical to a horizontal position. A platform above the lower platform can be brought into position to close the end of the space when the space is vertical. Wire supplied continuously from above as a helix collects either on the lower platform in the space or, if the upper platform is in place on the upper platform. In operation a predetermined quantity of wire collects in the space, whereupon the upper platform is brought into place and the predetermined quantity is severed. The lower platform is then lifted to compress this quantity of wire against the underside of the upper platform and devices known per se are employed to tie up the so formed package. The guides and the lower platform are then lowered somewhat and then swung into a horizontal position whereupon the package is pushed out by the lower platform onto a waiting conveyor. The assembly is then swung back into the vertical position and the upper platform moved aside for formation of another package.
