    摘要: Linkage device for a couplings of railway vehicles, the coupling head of which is connected to a drawbar linked to a steering pivot of the railway vehicle, which drawbar is provided with spring elements sitting on it in order to dampen compressive and tensile force that arise, e.g., when coupling the railway vehicle. The spring elements are fastened to a plate that can be rotated about an axis of rotation of the steering pivot. In this way, they are also deflected when the coupling is deflected so that the compressive and tensile forces acting on the latter also act upon its entire surface evenly, even when the coupling is deflected. The linkage device is also provided with overload protection.

    摘要: A device for connecting a coupling shaft to a car body of a track-guided vehicle, wherein the device includes a linkage connected to the coupling shaft and a bearing block connectable to the car body to which the linkage is articulated by means of at least one pivot pin so as to be pivotable in a horizontal plane. At least one pivot pin is designed as a shock protector and thereto comprises a bearing disc having a concentrically arranged recess and a shearing element having a breaking or separating region. A bearing block-side region of the shearing element is accommodated in the recess of the bearing disc and a linkage-side region of the shearing element is accommodated in a pin seat of the linkage.

    摘要: A railroad car draft gear is provided which includes a housing. The housing is a unitary structure, having an open end and a closed end. Compressible spring elements are located inside the housing, with an end of the spring element located against the interior side of the closed end. A friction assembly is also located within the housing, near the open end. The friction assembly provides energy absorption during compression cycles. The spring element restores the friction assembly to its fully extended position after a compression event.

    摘要: A railcar draft gear assembly including a housing, a spring sea, a spring and a friction clutch assembly in operable combination relative to each other within the housing. The spring includes a series of axially stacked elastomeric pads arranged between a closed end of the housing and the spring seat. An axially elongated guide rod is endwise passed through the spring seat and elastomeric pads for aligning the pads relative to a longitudinal axis of the draft gear assembly. The guide rod is operably inhibited from axial shifting movements during operation of the draft gear assembly. A related method for assembling the draft gear is also disclosed.

    摘要: A compressible spring for at least absorbing and dissipating energy includes a plurality of elastomeric pads disposed coaxially and in series with each other and a plurality of separator plates, with each plate being disposed between a pair of the adjacent pads. A plurality of first prongs are formed integrally with or secured to a first surface of each separator plate for attaching the plate to one pad and a plurality of second prongs are formed integrally with or secured to a second surface for attaching the plate to an opposed pad. An axial aperture is also formed through each plate with prongs positioned in an alternating manner on a peripheral edge of the axial aperture. Projections may be also provided on each surface of the plate and adapted with an axial aperture that continues through the plate for additional attachment of the plate to the pair of pads.

    摘要: A railroad car draft gear including a housing having an open end with a friction clutch assembly arranged in operable combination therewith. An elongated elastomeric spring assembly is disposed within the housing for storing energy during axial compression of the draft gear. A spring seat is arranged within the housing between the spring assembly and an end portion of each friction member forming part of the friction clutch assembly. The spring seat defines a surface, arranged in direct contacting relation with an end of the spring assembly, and defines at least one surface incongruity for limiting radial expansion with the elastomeric spring at the end of the spring assembly arranged in direct contacting relation with the spring seat along at least two axes when an axial load is applied to the draft gear.

    摘要: Herein disclosed is a shock absorber which is to be used with a vehicular coupler. The shock absorber includes a shock absorbing frame which has a pair of shoulders. Further inclusive are a pair of follower plates which are adapted to be held to abut against the shoulders of the shock absorbing frame. A main elastic member is clamped under compression between the paired follower plates. A pair of auxiliary elastic members are also clamped under compression, respectively, between the shock absorbing frame and those faces of the follower plates, which are opposite to the faces contacting with the main elastic member. The initial pressure applied to the main elastic member is balanced by the initial pressures to the auxiliary elastic members. Thus, the paired follower plates can take their neutral positions without being forced onto the shoulders of the shock absorbing frame.

    摘要: A preform is made by casting a copolyester polymer elastomer into a block. While the block is solidifying, pressure is supplied to the central portion thereof. After a block is formed, it is annealed and a precompression force is applied thereto sufficient to compress the block to an extent greater than thirty percent of the original dimension of the block as measured parallel to the precompression force. In one embodiment a cushioning unit using the block is made by placing a pair of multi-apertured metal plates on opposite sides of the block with projections on the plates extending against the block and applying a second precompression force to the block and plates sufficient to cause the copolyester polymer elastomer to flow into the apertures in the plates and form a mechanical bond between the block and the plates.
