    摘要: The method of manufacturing the compound camshaft comprises the steps of placing cast journal or bearing elements and/or cast cam elements on a camshaft body and fixedly connecting or securing such elements at the camshaft body. The cast journal or bearing elements and/or the cam elements contain an opening which is bounded by an internal profile or contour having a configuration which is governed by the type of connection to be made between such elements and the camshaft body. The internal profile or contour may be of a substantially conical shape and is at least partially left in a mechanically untreated condition. The compound camshaft thus obtained is optimized with respect to wear and weight and there are neither required cost-intensive and time-consuming operations, especially machining operations, nor complicated working steps during the manufacturing process.

    摘要: In the production of a body of filled plastics material, it is started from a self-supported article with open pores which can be obtained in the conventional manner.     摘要: A method of keeping inductor spouts, downgates and outlet casting channels and the like free of deposits during the production of a cast iron melt involves treatment with pure magnesium. Such deposits, which occur as reaction products and block the channels causing considerable maintenance expense, are prevented by the use of pure magnesium. The cast iron melt is flushed free of suspended highly basic reaction products, such as MgO, CaO, Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, FeO and MgS, in a predetermined magnesium treatment of the cast iron melt with pure magnesium by a simultaneous evaporation of magnesium not consumed in the magnesium treatment. By preventing the formation of deposits, the life of the vessel used is increased and maintenance costs are decreased.

    摘要: A process for the production of nodular cast iron is disclosed. The process comprises adding magnesium to molten iron and then desulphurizing the melt. Next, the melt is after-treated with a neutral gas. The neutral gas which is introduced into the melt may be Ar, N.sub.2, CO.sub.2, or any combination thereof. The after-treatment with the neutral gas scavenges the melt for nonmetallic inclusions. The after-treatment may be performed by blowing the gas into the melt in a known manner using blowing lances or through a porous plug. In a preferred embodiment, the melt is also carburized by treatment with a gaseous hydrocarbon.
