Aqueous emulsions for impregnating organic fibers, comprising, in addition to water and dispersants, (1) a diorganopolysiloxane having a Si-bonded hydroxyl group in each terminal unit and whose organic radicals are free of basic nitrogen atoms; (2) an organopolysiloxane containing diorganosiloxane units in which the two organic radicals are monovalent hydrocarbon radicals and also contains at least two monovalent SiC-bonded organic radicals per molecule having a basic nitrogen atom in which the organopolysiloxane is present in the emulsion in an amount of from 5 to 50 weight percent based on the weight of the diorganopolysiloxane (1); (3) an organosilicon compound selected from an organosilane containing at least two SiOC-bonded monovalent organic radicals consisting of carbon, hydrogen and possibly oxygen and/or partial hydrolyzates thereof, in which the organosilicon compound is present in the emulsion in an amount of from 2 to 6 weight percent based on the total weight of the diorganopolysiloxane (1) and organopolysiloxane (2); and (4) a condensation catalyst, which is present in an amount of from 0.2 to 1 weight percent based on the total weight of the diorganopolysiloxane (1) and organopolysiloxane (2).These aqueous emulsions are prepared by mixing the organosilicon compound (3) with an emulsion of diorganopolysiloxane (1) and organopolysiloxane (2) and thereafter mixing the resultant mixture with the condensation catalyst (4).

A method for impregnating textile materials made from organic fibers which comprises impregnating the textile materials with a composition containing a crosslinkable diorganopolysiloxane, an organopolysiloxane containing at least 3 Si-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule, a crosslinking catalyst, and an organo(poly)siloxane containing 1 or 2 Si-bonded hydrogen atoms and 2 to 8 silicon atoms per molecule, in which the composition is free of a filler having a surface area greater than 50 g/m.sup.2 in an amount greater than 1 weight percent based on the weight of the organosilicon compounds and thereafter crosslinking the crosslinkable diorganopolysiloxane to form a coating thereon.

A lubricating composition to improve the sliding properties of organic fibers comprising an organosilicon compound having at least one OSiR.sub.2 unit and a compound selected from the group consisting ofO.dbd.P[(OCHR.sup.1 CHR.sup.1).sub.n OR.sup.2 ].sub.3, NR.sub.4.sup.2+ x.sup.-and mixtures thereof, where R is a hydrocarbon radical or a substituted hydrocarbon radical, R.sup.1 represents hydrogen or the methyl group, with the proviso that in each --OCHR.sup.1 CHR.sup.1 unit at least one R.sup.1 must be hydrogen, R.sup.2 represents hydrogen or a monovalent hydrocarbon radical having from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, with the proviso that in each compound of the formula NR.sub.4.sup.2+ x.sup.- at least two of the R.sup.2 radicals must represent hydrocarbon radicals, n is either O or an integer having a value of from 1 to 15, with the proviso that when R.sup.2 is hydrogen in each of the phosphorus compounds, n must be at least 1 and that at least one --OCHR.sup.1 CHR.sup.1 unit must be present in each of the phosphorus compounds and x.sup.- represents an anion of an organic or inorganic acid. These compounds not only improve the sliding properties of organic fibers, but also impart antielectrostatic properties to the treated fibers.

These organopolysiloxanes are preferably prepared by reacting organopolysiloxanes which contain units of the formulas R.sub.3 SiO.sub.1/2 and RHSiO and optionally units of the formula R.sub.2 SiO, wherein R is the same as above, with an organic compound that has a terminal C.dbd.C-bond and at least one vicinal epoxy group per molecule, at least one alkene having at least 6 carbon atoms per molecule, and at least one aralkene in the presence of a catalyst which promotes the addition of Si-bonded hydrogen to the aliphatic C.dbd.C bond. These organopolysiloxanes may be applied simultaneously with a polymer having perfluoroalkyl groups with at least 3 carbon atoms per alkyl group to fibers to render them oil and water repellent.

The invention is a process wherein organic fibers are impregnated with organopolysiloxane (1) containing, in addition to diorganosiloxane units in which the two SiC-bonded organic radicals are monovalent hydrocarbon radicals, at least two monovalent SiC-bonded radicals containing basic nitrogen, at least some of the SiC-bonded radical containing basic nitrogen comprising SiC-bonded N-cyclohexylaminoalkyl radicals. The SiC-bonded N-cyclohexylaminoalkyl radicals are in monoorganosiloxane and/or diorganosiloxane and/or triorganosiloxane units. The preferred SiC-bonded N-cyclohexylaminoalkyl radical is the SiC-bonded N-cyclohexyl-3-aminopropyl radical. The organopolysiloxane (1) contains optionally condensable groups which are bonded directly to silicon. The organopolysiloxane (1) containing condensable groups bonded directly to silicon can be employed together with an organopolysiloxane (2a) containing at least 3 Si-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule, or together with trialkoxy- or tetraalkoxysilanes (2b), and if appropriate, together with a catalyst (3) for the condensation of condensable groups bonded directly to silicon.

These organopolysiloxanes are preferably prepared by reacting triorganosiloxy end-blocked organopolysiloxanes consisting of diorganosiloxane units, in which at least part of these units contain SiC-bonded oxyalkylene units and, if appropriate, organohydrogensiloxane units or organohydroxyl siloxane units or organoalkoxysiloxane units of mixtures of at least two such monoorganosiloxy units with water in the presence of an acid or base or, and subsequently with a silane or simultaneously with water and a silane in which the silane contains one SiC-bonded monovalent organic radical, or partially hydrolyzed products of the silane. The new organopolysiloxanes are applied to textile fibers to impart hydrophilic properties thereto.
